Liquor Lady
we had him down to 102.9 but he has since spiked back up over 103. he wanted rootbeer popcicles so I went on a mad hunt for them, you cant find those just anywhere you know! I remembered the same thing Mucluck! stopped and got him some Motrin so I can go back and forth with those, worked on him when he was ababy :)got a cold rag on his neck now and a couple of popcicles in him, he already looks better.
LL - The other thing to try is to down dress him. Socks off. Lightweight clothing or jammies. And try a fan. The doctor had us do that once and it worked wonders. Just watch so he doesn't chill. If they start shivering, that brings the fever back up.
The other thing to remember is the fever helps knock out the virus that's bothering him. At his age, 103 isn't horribly high. Just want to keep an eye so that it doesn't go above 104 if you can help it.
If it is any consolation... Meg was running 104 too... doc says that high fevers go with this crap. I agree with Mucluck... alternating works wonders and for some reason Meg responded better to the motrin. Means setting your alarm clock every 6 hours but that stuff is worth it! Has he complained of an ear ache? Meg developed a bad ear infection that needed an antibiotic. Just some thoughts. Call if you need anything!
We took his shirt off and let the fan blow on him for a while, seems to have worked :) his temp is down to 101.7, It hasn't been that low since yesterday. He's in bed sleeping now so I think he's feeling a little better :)

The guy who plows my street is pretty anal. His mom lives on the same block so he gets here early. And he'll give me a little toot of his horn if my car is still out there when he comes by. I didn't really expect him this morning.

One thing about a fever. They seem to get higher in the evening. Not sure why that is, but it happens.
Yeah, I've noticed that too, weird!

He's up to 103.7 now, gave him some motrin at 7:30 and will check again at 8:30, doc said if it doesn't go down by then to take him into the ER :(
LL - Tell L'il Roaster that we're all thinking cooler thoughts for him. Poor little guy.
Thanks TV, I'll tell him :)

We almost ended up there last night, thank God we got his temp down, he's even playing his guitar now :)
Hello and good morning to all!

LL glad to hear he is getting better.
Green not a problem it was OT's idea
Boots on, playing guitar....all's good.
My idea, ESD, but you have the wherewithal to make it happen. Best I could do is sew sequins on Green's butt, and I'm not sure she'd like that.
Sequins on my butt would bee good.
Would match LLady's gooey, bumpy, rubbery polka dots. We'd bee a pair, we would! :D
OT - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great idea. I wish I'd thought o'it!
Thing izz, about those SPARKLIES? That's just how they are! Like little fire works. Little stars. Little xploding carbonaztion bubbles.
Yup. THANKS!
Green, you been hitting the pop rocks again???
LL... glad to hear the lil' one is feeling better...
Just got done doing my outside chores. Shoveling, filling bird feeders and jockeying cars around trying to avoid the plow. I'm plum tuckered out!
I just read that post, and I sound like Ma Kettle!Â
Thanx for all the well wishes everyone :) last temp was 98.6 back to normal :)
Got a little, Zeph. Hardly enough to plow, but I think the plow drivers were getting anxious to drive their big trucks around.
So, you have shovelable snow??? How much?
I'll trade you for some rocks.... pretty ones....
