The clues have cherokee ritten all over them, I can't believe that some people still think it is at mounds! The mounds are not "above" the snow like the clue says.
The cathedral dome is large but then so are some of the other items in the park. It's hard to say what the clue writer is thinking. It's what makes all the nonsense so much fun. \
Have to sign off now to go chair the committee. Hope someone finds it from the Water Cooler. I'll check in later. Bye...
We are shocked that this thing has not been found yet. Here's a theory - whatever it was hidden in was found by the tree trimmers Friday night and was thrown away. Or perhaps it stuck to one of the tires on there trucks. How could it not have been found yet?
I just came from CP and there was only about a couple dozen people there. and i stopped by mounds and there was about three times as many people there than there was at CP. I dont know how you could say there was a 100. And im starting to wander if its even there any more. cause everything is completly dug up.
Allie Go sure started something with the nametag idea. I've been reading through the past posts and noted that a lot of the Cooler regulars liked the idea. Might be something we have to think about for next year. It's a good thing I've been keeping a list of the best thinkers since the Cooler opened. If you've been a courteous and clever regular, expect a polite e-mail from me when this jig's up.
Or else some chunk of solid ice. We spent some time out there. Can't believe how turned over the snow is, where can it be? We tried out the top of the sledding hill where you can see the tops of the pyramids, the smokestack, the city street leading into the park, the cathedral. It was a pretty popular place, but not as popular as I thought it would be. Arghhh!!
Now that it's dark, I don't see it being found before 11:00 p.m. If you haven't already, I suggest you participate in the mad dash for the park from the downtown Press building rather than waiting for the clue to come out online. Now's about when it gets interesting and WAY FUN!
It must be Cherokee. Yet despite my hours of looking I have yet to locate it. I think tonight's clue will be very specific. Remember after Thursday they can call it off and give the money to charity. . .
OK this is really a stretch, but I'll toss it out. I studied the literary patterns of the clue writer for this year. Long lines but not very good rhythm or metre. Then I looked at clues from previous hunts and clues with the most similar style are from the 1995 hunt.
You'll see if you look that the styles are very different, suggesting different people and different thought processes.
Possibly the same person wrote the clues, or someone who thinks the same way. And if this is true, maybe we can learn about how this person thinks by studying the 1995 clues?
Like Bill Murray said in Caddyshack, if you want to catch this gopher, you have to get inside its pelt and crawl around for a little bit. You have to think like a gopher... i.e., the clue writer.
I think your right, tonights clue may only tell us what it's hidden in assuming it's not in a La Rosa pasta box and that "Rosebud" is actually a sled. Then we will have 2 days with no place to dig. The clue writer is really having fun.
think the clues are more obscure because it was in cherokee in 92 so they had to look for original clues so that people wouldnt be able to compare em or find any patterns...
Hey CHERYL and GREEN I was sure I would get home and see that you had found it what happened. Actually got 5 hours of sleep last night. Green did you get my response this early morning? Cheyl are you out digging or are you not home yet? Any new ideas (I like the CC logo idea)
Hi Patrick - How are you holding up? Was at the park at 11:45 last night and today from 4:30 to 6:00. I'll think I'm gonna start heading to the press at 10:30. Time to get crazy! Jill
gls2 nice cat. How do you keep it from freaking out with all the other animals around. I would like to enter my cat in a show, but she gets nasty around other cats.
Do you think it could be hidden in the NE part of the park?? Fore meaning front?
BY the way is the park still there or did Joe medallion blow it up like he said he was going to or maybe the local police caught his messages and picked him up??????????????Where are you big bad Joe???
i.e. is anybody besides me thinking "Landmark" brewing co?
As in, what better to guide you than a 'landmark'???
Large object could be smoke stack, Cathedral dome, rock, slide, bathrooms, trees, etc. It is how you might interpret things - near or far.
I still think the large object in view is the dome of the cathedral because of the mode and demo part of the clue
Can you see the 'Landmark' from CP?
I like the Landmark brewery. I had forgotten about that discussion earlier - maybe last night.
Landmark is visible from CP
From the perspective of the "clue-giver", I dont think I would
look at the Cathedral and say "Hmmm, how could I use that? Hey,
it's a large object!" You may be right though.
Anyway it is a trivial point since the double-division giveaway.
Yes, even the Landmark sign is visible from CP
The clues have cherokee ritten all over them, I can't believe that some people still think it is at mounds! The mounds are not "above" the snow like the clue says.
I live by Mounds. I'll drive by on my way to cherokee for a good
laugh. Some people like pneumonia I guess...
signing off...
What is the giveaway about double division?
Most of the time the second part of the clue relates to the first part of the clue not a seperate issue.

what do you think its in? I heard a video box-rosebud, or a snow globe, or a bread bag. What do you think??
Just came from Cherokee. Lots of people there. Maybe a 100 or more. Drove by Mounds, probably 40 people there.
We are shocked that this thing has not been found yet. Here's a theory - whatever it was hidden in was found by the tree trimmers Friday night and was thrown away. Or perhaps it stuck to one of the tires on there trucks. How could it not have been found yet?
New Daddy - we're thinking something rosebud related or bread related, such as a bread bag, or bread mix box.
Hell with the medallion,I like the water cooler logos idea better.Think I`ll jump on that tomorrow

Say Joe medallion are you out there. Are you still going to blow up the park at 7:00
Itsinmypocket - are you out there?
Mr. Tom: Already copyrighted!!!! LOL! But I'll let you work one of the booths if you wanna.

Norry old boy .did tou go yo yhe wrong park .At 6:00 there were at least 18 groups of 5 people and 10 straglers That = 100
its in some chunk of snow allready dug up
DD - this must be the case, otherwise, how could it have not been found?

Hey two sis, I like your new logo. Any new ideas?
Unfortunately, this is about the time true diggers get shafted by the one-night hunters (or the 15-minute hunters lately).
It must be Cherokee. Yet despite my hours of looking I have yet to locate it. I think tonight's clue will be very specific. Remember after Thursday they can call it off and give the money to charity. . .
I hate those one nighters.
I think tonites clue will tell us what the medallion is hidden in. What do other people think.

Last years medallion finder was one of those 15 min. claimjumpers
think the clues are more obscure because it was in cherokee in 92 so they had to look for original clues so that people wouldnt be able to compare em or find any patterns...
A few years back, it wasn't until the 9th or 10th clue that we really found out what it was hidden in.
Here's my theory, the guy forgot to hide it.

are they goin with 11 or 12 clues this year???? anyone???
Sax, does the clue come out earlier than midnight at the Pioneer Press building? I thought we can get it online first.
BY the way is the park still there or did Joe medallion blow it up like he said he was going to or maybe the local police caught his messages and picked him up??????????????Where are you big bad Joe???
The clue comes out at 11:00 at the press
Earlier in the day he was calling himself "The Artist Formerly Known as Joe Medallion"
