i like the fact that they're sufficiently vague to keep us all spread around still.

If AW finds it, what do you think he'll wear in the parade? (besides a grin)

His black hat, black coat, black boots - his Allison Wonderland garb, of course!

I don't like Harriet. I don't think she fits today's clue at all really and I'm not sure the carpenter's beau thing is even legitimate. But just being down there and looking around, these don't seem like the clues I would write for this park. I need to do some more research though. I think today's clue is really a street name perhaps.

A red herring, you say? Hhhuuummmm... Gotta ponder that.

AW- any history of a street car or rail line ending at HI?

I saw someone post not too long ago that they were out at the Capitol Mall. QueenMallay or something like that. I'm starting to feel a bit lost. I checked out the Wabasha bridge today. Not a place to hunt for the faint of heart.

Hiya KT. I'm good except for trying to figure out these clues.

Nice Joe, Diggin'!

I, too, spent hours on street names. Note: From what I could find, there is NO Carpenter Street in St. Paul.

But that carpenter's beau (bow), combined with walker... I just don't see how it can mean much else...

I wonder if that can beee seen from Chair-O-Key...

I doubt it. I think HI only stopped being an island in the 50's and they didn't really have street cars anymore by then. Plus, since most of the industry was on the other side of the river, I'm not sure what purpose a rail line would have served on the island.

Uh oh! Green, what did you WANT to see? I'm lost.....

Raspberry Island... I wonder if it can beee seeen from Chair-o-Key.

If they really hid it in one of these parks (IM, HI, KLo, CH), then we all suck at searching, especially at KLo. I'm going on record by saying no to all of them.

AW, I have a stupid, pinchy map that shows a rail line of some sort going right into HI, it's a Rand-McNally laminated fold up.

Well if you already knew the answer, why did you ask? :-P I was just guessing. What would be the significance anyway if it did?

Well I got back from a crazy idea to check out rasberry island (some call it navy island, the one under wabasha bridge) seemed like an interesting spin, but I searched the place and only found trash.

Also came back with my cold getting worse (think my roommate gave it to me, he's had it for the last two weeks, I tried everything I could to prevent catching it) not sure how I'll feel about going out anytime soon to search again... stupid cold....

Buggs anyone before the clue

Sat, 01/25/2003 - 6:18 PM Permalink

The significance might be that clue#7 refers to "she" in the past tense....

yah, I know I'm grasping a bit on that, AW, but at this point I can't help it.

If they have a registered button it's ok, I just hate when they don't even register a button and then run out and find the damn thing!

Aren't residents outside ramsey county disqualified? Rofl, just kidding... I'd be more upset that a minneapolis person knew my city better :) That'd only be upset with myself though.

I find it intertesting that the last line omits the pronoun, and thus we don't know for sure if it was she who neared the finish, or he since beau means the male lover of a young woman.
