I've been trying to buy a button online, but the site doesn't work. I just got an e-mail from the sysop there and they are going to take my order over the phone. But, perhaps I won't need to buy one now, since I have my registered 2008 button!
Didn't the turf at Murray fields cost $2 million? That's most likely the reason they added that........just in case someone thinks it's at Como.
Good morning everyone. Picked up an extra copy of NTFCF last night for my younger brother. Getting pretty pumped about the hunt after looking through previous years clues.
I don't wanna be huntin in any more woods, wife doesn't want any more woods, kids dont either... I SERIOUSLY hope they see this as a perfect opportunity for a park with NO WOODS!
Last thing I want is to get my glasses knocked off and eye almost poked out again....
I don't feel like I really have a vote yet, but OBB'S seems the perfect place to "kick-off" (east side play on words) the 2009 Hunt! Only about 100 yards from the 2008 medallion!! In fact, cooler crew, a new tradition could be started by toasting the new hunt at a watering hole within the proximity of the previous years medallion, since we all would have the area staked out, right?
Obbs is a good first choice (and Jake and "clue writer Joe" like to go there ... lol) but this place looks nice - call and see how many the party room holds ..... and if it is available. Tell them what we are looking for....se what they say/offer.
IMHO the clue has come out in the early addition the past couple years - so if that is the case this year we don't have to be so close to downtown for the pre dig...just for the week night clue assembly group....which sounds like Wild Tymes is our ticket

The following is a public service message from TREASURE HUNT HEADQUARTERS:
I just wanted to give everyone a little update on the status of “Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt History”.
I would first like to say “Thank You” to everyone who has purchased a book and remind you that free updated pages are available at www.wintercarnival.8m.com.
When this venture started back in 2005, I had an agreement with the Pioneer Press to print 500 copies of the book and donate $2 from each book to support literacy efforts in the community through programs such as “Newspapers in Education”. I made the full $1000 donation back in 2005 and now I am finally nearing the end of my book supply.
I will be delivering a few books (updated through 2006) to Micawbers yet this week and will take what’s left of my inventory (approx 25) and update them through the 2008 hunt. They should be back from the printer by early next week. I will be selling these for $15 each until the book reaches “Out of Print” status.
Please email me at medhunter{@}hotmail.com if youÂ’d like me to reserve a copy or two for you.
Thanks for your continued support, Good Luck in this yearÂ’s hunt and IÂ’ll see you out in the parks.
"if he/she is a registered 2008 Winter Carnival Button owner"
Really? A 2008 button?
noticed the artificial turf - was that in previous years rules?

My top picks:
Highland
Hidden Falls
Keller
New Ramsey County Park.
They've done/are doing alotta work down there....
just noplace to park, really... theres one small lot, the size of my backyard...
Plenty of snow to hide it so hopefully it wont be in the woods again.
Last thing I want is to get my glasses knocked off and eye almost poked out again....

Too bad though... not like its being used right now anyways....
Before they think weÂ’re on the run.
Watch the reporter, the trailer, the sportier,
For soon the deed will be done.
If the park you are near has a traveler, take note-
They may seem the kind out of place.
ItÂ’s too cold for feet, a raft or a boat,
But not for a clue and a trace!
