Pets are not allowed in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, Como Zoo, and in the Visitor Center. In other areas of Como Park, pets must be licensed and on a leash no longer than six feet. Owners must be prepared to clean up after their pet.
ok - it's not in a park, it's on public property, with the snow, they could hide it differntly - it's in a white USPS priortiy type box and i'm guessing the area is somewhere near boxmeyers home.
The word "devote" seems out of place here. Devote seems religious like. Is it just me, or would dedicate have been a better word and they used devote because it means something more?
Up front made me think of the street too, but then they wouldn't give a street reference this early so the second thing that came to mind was the riverfront. All along the river there is walking/biking paths, benches tables etc. The city finally designated it Upper Landing Park, but I'm not sure if it's just one area or the whole stretch. I'm not sure how many miles on Shepard road the trails stretch.
Battle Creek's off-leash area is due south of the main park shelter and water park. That swampy area has some of the densest woods in the entire Metro. 2000 people shoveling in that crap would still take a day or two to find anything. Good hiding spot if you ask me - who cares if its Maplewood?
well it's official, thanks to a constant call queue of 200+ all day I won't be able to get out early and make it to the PDG.. I know, I know, hearts everywhere are broken by this news  but seriously though I hope to meet anybody I haven't met yet over the coming couple of weeks, since I have the rest of the hunt off starting Tuesday night through Friday the 30th

Does anybody know what section the clue is in this morning? I like to clip them from the paper and I can't find it in the late edition Sunday paper, I've looked through 3 sections 3 times.
shortest hunt ever

that's my initial stab - all from one clue.
:0)
and now I must go throw a ball
We'll be up front- North and East
We devote the hunt
To Box, our friend, now at rest
Optomist Park, on White Bear Lake...tiny little place.
honestly I don't think there's anything there, but ya never know.
as opposed to "we'll be upfront" or "We'll be up-front" the two more common uses of that particular phrase . Sounds North and East to me...

Welcome to the cooler crew!!!
You are thinking of the sliding hill part of bc probably.
And if it's in those woods I will see you all a week from Wednesday at midnight.
10. Go to the Pre-Dig Gig and trade stories and theories about the
hunt while getting to know the faces behind the screen names.
9. Go downtown at 11pm and get in line for the paper. Pass the time
waiting away by talking to the people in line next to you. Then once
you have the clue, compare your initial thoughts with random people
in the lobby doing the same.
8. Better yet, go downtown early and meetup with other hunters while
you enjoy a drink or something to munch on.
7. Exchange clue interpretations with a total stranger in the middle
of a park at 2am.
6. Dig up an area of snow, however big or small it may be, just so
you can feel a sense of accomplishment.
5. Take a kid out hunting with you and let them find some little
treasure that you hid for them.
4. Keep looking at the clues until you discover something it seems
no one else has. It may be right, it may be wrong, but you're the
only one who knows it.
3. Scout out a park you've never been to before just to see what
it's like.
2. Be at "the" park during the later clues at the moment the new
clue is released, and watch the spectacle.
1. Go to the Rehash Bash and live it all over again.
If you do all of these things, you will come out feeling like a
winner every year. And if you should also happen to find the
medallion, well so much the better.
