Just getting back online after going back to bed this morning and after reading about the construction debris knew there was a name for it and was going to Google to find it. I'm not sure I would have found it and you saved me a lot of wasted time. Good job!

Anybody have that Boxmeyer book? Does he ever talk about a favorite treat or hobby? Perhaps it's hidden in one of his favorite things.

A lot of folks heated with wood and coal.

Urban forests tended to disappear into firewood piles.

So did coal from the gondola cars in the RR Yards.

I've seen mention of a conference call tonight and this is confusing me. Isn't it for Clue 12? Are we planning one for tonight, as well? :goofy:

For what it's worth...

To bring to the fore is an idiom which means

A point that can't be ignored...

Because it's at swede and no tennis I have to run with that

Maybe it is maybe not

We actually did a conference call on clue 11 last year, though it turned out to be a clue 12 clue.

Makes you wonder what Clue 12 would have been. That one pretty much took you by the hand and led you there.

This is driving me crazy: how do I make the most recent message start @ the top of the page vs it being @ the bottom.I have tried tweaking the miscellaneous settings and have clicked Date/time created, newest first....but the most recent message always is @ the bottom of the page

I haven't seen anyone post anything that seems to have come from here, but here is a good spot to get a map and an arial of the park:

Wow, you can really see some detail on that map if you pick the bird's eye view.

I really think the impressive arbor clue is referring to the sign that downtown dave posted earlier - swede hollow forest.

That is a way cool map, thanks AW. I would love a live aerial shot of Swede right about now with all the hunters digging!

I thought that sign area was pretty much dug up, Lee.

What is that henge thingy anyway?
Tue, 01/27/2009 - 8:35 AM Permalink

I don't think it is by the sign, I think it is a park clue referring to the sign.

you're welcome.

its amazing what a little "bump" at 130 in the morning will do for you

we left the larger, bigger one down stream a ways in tact though.

i'd much prefer to use it too, but they're not nearly as programmer friendly as google is for building web apps with the maps.

edit: i spoke too soon. thanks for the link kitch. gonna have to look into that one because the aerial views get so much more detailed with m$

Kitch, I have been nagging about that white spot post after post. I think it is worth a look-see.

queenmalley

You can see that white spot better on AW's map site. But i am sure it is covered by snow now and someone pointed out that it is too close to the creek to be considered safe by the CW, which is probably true. it goes straight back to the church in a diagonal

No, but I have one of these only the older style with the older logo and a red top. We use it at the lake around the camp fire. We gave it to my father for a birthday gift in the mid-60's.

I don't even like beer, but when I was on a trip to Oregon a few years ago we went to an oyster feed at the local American Legion hall and they served Hamm's beer. Same can with the lion with the crown logo. Even says "America's Classic Premium Beer * Born in the Land of Sky Blue Waters". Brewed in Milwaukee. Probably can buy it around here too, but I bought a can and drank it and walked out of the place with the can. So I have that too and a couple of Hamm's church keys. I use one of them to open paint cans.

That just makes me laugh nothing about the hunts over the last several years has been "safe"
