2012 - Tony Schmidt Park

Submitted by ares on
2012 Clues

So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.

Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.

I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

Where are the rules? Only found a very generic page at the PP. Where does it say Ramsey County Parks or St Paul Parks? What about smaller city parks?

I don't know the area much, but I'm always in favor of somewhere different

I think we are going to stop by after a lil diggin around.

See you at Gabe's. Should be busy.

I'm out of the loop this year. I babysit a couple of my granddaughters during the day and can't stay up late enough for the clues, much less stay around to noodle. By the time I read this board in the morning, anything I would have added has already been said. Kind of a bummer, but we do what what we need to do.

But you all keep up the good work, I'm your cheering section.

And the avatar is my two oldest sisters and our aunt on the steps of one of the Ice Palaces in the '30's.

The "mix treasured lore" is something to keep in mind. Maybe these clues include bits and pieces from past hunt history or clues?

Well I made it out for a few hours tonight. I decided to go check out Conway, wasn't very inspired. I have a bad feeling that the medallion is just going to be in a large patch of woods again. So I thought I'd wander around and look for pirate medallions. I went out to Como for a while to look for those, since I figured there probably were some out there. I saw a few people out looking there. I gave up on the pirate medallions after a while, I'm not going to try on those again until I have daylight to work with. Then I decided to head home. I'll probably just wait until the weekend now, unless there's some great clue tonight.

I hear you there OT, I don't really have a lot of time myself to spend on the hunt.

I don't see "ken" in clue 1...???

I think any park in ramsey county, not necesarily a county park

The anagram a friend provided though I don't really see it fitting into anything. I don't want to say it, but I do get the feeling the more I look into clues and of course the repeated words and Ken reference from BC hunt before that it is at BC. Hopefully I will see some fellow hunters out there tonight or tomorrow

Thanks! Maybe the info on the Cooler Crew site is wrong then? Here's what it has for 61, #1:

It's Carnival time in old St. Paul

With a treasure hunt for one and all.

Get out your maps, warm clothing too,

The medallion's hid its up to you.

"ken" was used to describe staying within the City of St Paul back in the BC hunt of 2006; here is the clue:

For the brave of heart, its time to start

Searching hill and glen.

Pitch a tent if that's your bent

But stay within your ken.

Our Thoughts: Missing from the official explanation of this clue is the fact that one of the meanings of the word "ken" is "realm of knowledge". So staying withn your ken would mean keeping the hunt confined to St. Paul, an important thing to note, considering Battle Creek Park straddles the boundary between Saint Paul and Maplewood.

Oh, I am sorry! I am talking about THIS years clue #1 with "cunning and ken." I am sorry if I was confusing.

i'm cleaning up a lot of stuff so may have made a mistake or two when transferring data. i've got a lot of explanations to bring in that have never been there so i'll be clearing those all up as i do.

Thus, I think it's a repeat park within the City of St. Paul; however, I have been wrong before and I was at Harriet when Horton hears a Hoot and was in that mad dash to Como.

this has been probably the most gruelling week of my working career and somehow I've stayed in good touch with the hunt this year...feeling pretty good about that

No user inform…

I found one too... its a bit of stretch.

Mix TREASURED LORE INTO YOUR QUEST

"A RETURN TO YOUR REQUESTED SOIL"

I imagined it as the CW speaking to Jake.

I really hope its not at BC

Repeat parks? Does anyone have a total on how many times it was hidden in a park, or a park where the clues add up to 60 on it taking to be found?
