A little noodling - not sure what to make of it yet - but thought I would put it out there - if anyone cares...
Did anyone else notice that the first letters of clue 3 and clue 4 spell -
It's at como? (clue 3 talks about anagrams also.. )
So far I could argue it Como (but as we all know - every clue every time fits there some how) (that would be quite a lark putting it there tho! - BUT we know bear and can kick his ass - unlike the PP clue writer)
I kind of like Indian Mounds (chesty) and you can see the planes from the airfield just south.
are there 3 ... memorials / quotes/ i.e. 'truths' in or near the park? 3 ways to access the treasure? Also - weren't the indians the ones that did things on the spoken word (truth)? Maybe there is some sort of plaque about truth at the park?
What if New Man - refers to some chic who trades in her men like clean socks.. i.e. clean laundry? is there some memorial to a mae west anywhere? (or any other modern woman before her time?)
I realize Bear is running this - but what if the Bear refers to the Hamm's bear - what was his love? Fish? Beer? could there be a brewery or a Fish Hatchery or maybe an awesome sushi restaurant near by? There is a Bear Statue @ como - any other tributes to the Hamm's Bear near by? or is there a park by the old brewery?
What about parks by Dale? I think the souix reference might be pointing to something indian.. (?) O'er the song - is there a ampitheater or somewhere where people listen to music??
What about a really old bridge where carraiges used to pass?
I don't have my maps with me here at work - so this is just off the top of my head.. which made my head hurt. too much thinking for a monday after a holiday
I havnt read the clue yet but I am sticking with Mounds Highland and added Battle Creek earlier today for no other reason but indians faught there with soldiers -something or sometime around the civil war.
Oh.... aren't there 3 indian mounds in mounds? I know a lot of people have figured "Chesty" is in reference to mounds but just thought I should clear up the fact that I only have 2 (Ares will vouch for me)Â ;)
At least thirty-seven mounds once stood along the bluffs of the Mounds Park area; only six remain.
Â
4-3. What does the "33" mean on the bottles of Rolling Rock?
There several versions:
The first is that it is the number of words on the label which a      Rolling Rock employee wrote down before sending it to the      artist/printer and it stuck. This is the most popular one.
The second is that "33" is the year prohibition was lifted.
A third, more colorful one, is that the brewery was started with      money won at the track betting on #33 "Old Latrobe", hence the 33 and      horse.
Gorgeous George - My initial thought reminded me of the upper midwest's most famous disc golf hole named "Georges Gorge".  But that's not in St. Paul, so all it did was make me yearn for summer for a few minutes. I don't remember having one this year.

Ok - I am coming down with a cold - and I think I just sneezed out my last bit of common sense and logice - but here goes anyways...
Could the 33 be a reference to Larry Bird? I am not sure why - but all I can think of is basketball when I read this clue - Georgetown? I realize you don't Grapple in basketball (at least not on purpose)
I think the peek down the side means - peeking down the words - and it's not como.. he was just getting us.Â
There was a canadian wrestler called "georgeous george" they are actually on #3 or Georgeous George III - the first one died in 1963 of a heart attack.
I'll shut up now - until the reasoning and common sense return..Â
(hosea) Ho 3:3 3:3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for {d} me many days;    thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for    [another] man: so [will] I also [be] for thee.
   (d) I will try you a long time as in your widowhood, whether        you will be mine or not.
I am just way to busy with school right now=(

A peek down the side isn't an ally

dont think I will be looking that one up
where is everyone :(
I'm here - I need to do some googling myself
Â
I thought he was laughing at how he spelt it's at como in the other two clues and this time is saying ha ha it's not.
Â
first letters of clues 3, 4 and 5 spell
its at como ha gotcha
Â
So I've ruled out Como...not much further than that!
Oh.... aren't there 3 indian mounds in mounds? I know a lot of people have figured "Chesty" is in reference to mounds but just thought I should clear up the fact that I only have 2 (Ares will vouch for me)Â ;)
I like harriet too - but I am not sure - is it allowed?
Â
I really like Indian Mounds or Harriet Island - but leaning more towards Mounds at this point.Â
Nice clues, Bear!
Not sure we have time to hunt. December is so very busy for us. Seems everyone we know has birthdays or other doings we need to attend.
Harriet Island is a St. Paul park. It's allowed.
Sounds to me like a park with a steep drop off. 3 3 could be a reference to Rolling Rock, again suggesting a steep hill. Mounds sounds good for now.
mounds has/had a fish hatchery nearby.
O'er the song=this song is over by the Who=wide open spaces?
A peek down the side isn't an ally(freind)=side of a cliff is not an ally (mounds)
Oh.... aren't there 3 indian mounds in mounds?
Â
I think there is 6 ...4 in one group and 2 in the other.
...
but I finally confused the hell out of myself
It’s right, it’s left – all over asunder = "apart from each other" (swing apart from?)
Cross, fro and too= Cross - Back and forth..-Swings?
ally= (cross)Â Unite? Treaty?
