Clue Master

I'm not totally sure on the park yet but feel that it's maybe by an address or something with 330 in it away from a ravine or cliff.  I need to get out there and do a quick visual of a few that are in the running.

good guess on the Bible verse Kitch!

It makes sense that the line down the side is the wrong park -but, why come out and tell us George? There has to be more to it than that... what about plain George St? or did I say that already?  -Cherokee

I realize it is foolish to over analysize the first clue.  HOWEVER - Did anyone else realize that "time and tide" was used as part of clue 3 in 2002:

Time and tide, fun and slide
Down the hill, far from the woods
Show that carnival hunter's pride
And you may trip over the goods

One clever theory had us looking at "time and tide" as detergents, turning "time" into Erato match Tide.

Could it actually mean more... like wanting us to look back at a earlier time - Something with hills and flat lands? maybe near water?

Kitch - I like the bible verse - but who would be the woman it was referring to? Harriet Bishop?

Do any of you think - Epitome def: prototype: a standard or typical example; "he is the prototype of good breeding"; "he provided America with an image of the good father

and george - could refer to George Washington?  but the I on a bill indicates it was issued from the Fed Reserve in Mpls.. can you see the fed reserve from any of the parks?

Is there some sort of Money reference or dollar or BILL? around any of the parks?

good ideas- I tried to look back to see where that Time and Tide was from and I think its from Merriam ??

I am very surprised there are only 4 posts in here since yesterday and none of them include the new clue.   Hope Bear wasn't on any planes that crashed, then we will never find what he hid! uuuuuuuhhhh (j/k bear)

WORST 24 HOURS OF MY LIFE.

More later.

Here's clue:

It’s been a bad run, fer this big bear

No missus, new car, no rhymen’ for bare

Life’s taken the toll on him – most  have turned

Better look hard – or else you’ll get burned

hmmm - what about a place where you run that is extremely difficult?  Is there like a black diamond level running path in one of the parks (Not really sure what you'd call it - bd is a ski term.. )

Any parks near a toll - bridge toll? Are there Toll Roads or Bridges in MN?

Burned - did a part of a park burn - or a building? - maybe it is near a fire pit?  What about a BBQ restaurant near the park? Or Mongolian food? where they light the wok thingy.. ok - I am just hungry. I'll shut up now...

I am sorry you had a sucky 24 - that really bites... can't wait to hear the story.

me2 - yeah - it was from Merriam park hunt 2002 - clue 3

There's a bonfire pit in Mounds.

there is one at Highland too and 3 at COMO ;) and one at Cherokee

BC reminds me of the Burns or a hard run -diamond level may be at BC

Clue Master

Jogging path, fire pit/grill, car dealership visible and maybe a drive through at a fast food joint or something?  Just some quick noodling between meetings. Doesn't the far end of BC extend down by Arbys where you can also see the dealership?

<edit>  Great noodle on Burns Ave. me2

This is actually clue 7 - direct to you from New Orleans, Louisiana!

Sticks and stones, they'll break your bones

and anagramming, that'll hurt you

the question to ponder, as you sip from a flask over yonder,

Is Cluemaster Brad? Nope...It's me2.

Looks like our lady must have hit on something in her earlier posts.  But she's had so many of them.  Now we just need to see which one is the key. Cool idea Red.

I still like her Burns Ave noodle but that may be the one he's saying is wrong.

At least I know that thew few ideas that I had were wrong, so that's a starting point anyway.  ;-)

I like Me2's George St. Idea... Burns is good tho too...

Hey - I was just on my Microsoft Street software - there is a street called Larry Ho Drive - it Crosses McNight - I know it has NOTHING to do with the clues, but I am laughing my ass off at the name?

Where do you live?  I live on Larry Ho... ROFLMAO...

If we are sipping from a Flask over yonder - does that mean that there isn't a bar for us to sip in close by to wear the puck is?

OR... could there have been a park where a bootlegg operation once stood?

Me2 - history buff ?? got anything?

just an aside - by 1880 - st.paul had 242 saloons, and Minneapolis had 176 saloons and 4 brothels... dang.

Or maybe a liquor store that's visible from the park?

Isn't there a small lounge/bar by Indian Mounds on Burns?

Yes.  It has a funny name that I can't recall offhand but I think it starts with an O.

well I think then that if he put me in the clue it is close to my house and most of you know where I live ;)

could be right in Alice Park ;)

Yoergs Brewery and others were located right along the bluff line.
You can also see Schmidt Brewery from here.

There are quite a bit of sticks and stones (fossils/sandstone/limestone) right on the bluff at Cherokee and Ohio.

or could just plain mean Sandstone Bluffs -people go into the caves to drink too ::shame on those people::

Is there anyway to insert the Clue that Bear wrote and posted on this thread into it's home on the other thread - so we aren't clicking all over looking for the clues when we need to re-read them?

Much love in advance!

Assuming the spacing isn't important:

Clue #1

Time and tide, froth and lithe,
two lines from a famous book
maybe it's meaningful, maybe it's lark
to this be sure: a Saint Paul park

clue 2

Something for chesty, the bear's big fan
I didn't get a wedding gift for her and the New man
Clean laundry, true love, the shape of her heart
3 plane truths are the best place to start

clue #3

It’s right, it’s left – all over asunder
To look wrong a colossal blunder
Something to see – if you look ‘round
Annas and grams they all abound
The sights you can’t see astound

clue 4

Carriages Cross, fro and too
Over the dales, hither and sioux
more comes  the reckoning
O'er the song

Clue #5

Ha ha,
Ah  ho, 3 3 -
Georgeous George,
Old man was he
The multi-skilled grappler
Cosmopolitan Epitome
Hankering for clues? Search, aspire, rally!
A peek down the side isn't an ally

Clue #6

It’s been a bad run, fer this big bear
No missus, new car, no rhymen’ for bare
Life’s taken the toll on him – most have turned
Better look hard – or else you’ll get burned

Clue #7

Sticks and stones, they'll break your bones
and anagramming, that'll hurt you
the question to ponder, as you sip from a flask over yonder,
Is Cluemaster Brad? Nope...It's me2.

Ok - So I spent my morning with my friend Uncle Webster...

Couple of points of note:

Dales = Hollows or Valleys - or low lying area (duh - but I actually didn't know that) - I thought Dale meant like the name - Chip and Dale.

Hither means - ON or NEAR - I only use the word like 'come hither' so I think he is saying it's ON or NEAR a low lying area

SIOUX - of course we know it's a Dakota Indian.. BUT did you know the word Siouan means: language of Central / Eastern North America...

A couple more thoughts:

I didn't get a wedding gift for her and the New man - do any of the parks have areas that they do weddings in ?  That are known for being spectacular for that?

What about - Churches near parks - or in linesight? or Jewerly Stores - where you would buy your wedding rings? or Bridal Stores?

Something to see - if you look 'round - Fire RING, merry go ROUND, a trail that is in a circle?  A trail around a lake -(like in AW's hunt?)

sights you can't see astound - I think from where the puck is hidden - you perhaps can't see the skyline - another reason it is down in a hollow or valley of the park

Old Man = Old Man River?

Cosmopolitan Epitome = Having a diverse (worldly) affluence in one central location. I.e. Mulit - Cultural - is there a place where many different vastly diverse groups either get together - or all sort of come into the melting pot?

I don't know the neighboorhoods very well down there - but somewhere maybe where the italians and the chinese share businesses in the same block?

It can also mean Recognize - like we will recognize what it is we are looking for.

Does anyone actually KNOW what we are looking for?  Bear said it was like Porn - we'd know it when we saw it.

But what does this puck porn look like?
