I don't know if this is anything or not - but in the 6th paragraph about Carver's Cave - a man named George Featherstonhaugh - a geologist - talked with the Dakota Indians about the area.

But can't you see planes leaving Holman from a number of other parks besides Mounds?

I have a pretty good argument forming in my mind for Mounds but I can also form many of the same things to Harriet & Cherokee - and prolly a fewl others.

Where was the Fish Hatchery?

what about George Latimer, former St. Paul mayor ?

Had he had anything with parks in the past?

ok, I was surfing - and found this site -

http://www.tc.umn.edu/~cosim001/Postcards.html

There are old postcards of: the fish hatcheries below IMP, the Churches from the surrounding area, Views of the railroad tracks, and views of Old Man River from IMP.

I didn't know there was a Mounds Park Sanitarium?  What was the disposition of that?

Clue Master

I know you can also see plenty of large planes take off and land from Hidden Falls too.  Which also has a cliff and the river.

Incidently:  Thanks AW

Clue #1

Time and tide, froth and lithe,
two lines from a famous book
maybe it's meaningful, maybe it's lark
to this be sure: a Saint Paul park

clue 2

Something for chesty, the bear's big fan
I didn't get a wedding gift for her and the New man
Clean laundry, true love, the shape of her heart
3 plane truths are the best place to start

clue #3

It’s right, it’s left – all over asunder
To look wrong a colossal blunder
Something to see – if you look ‘round
Annas and grams they all abound
The sights you can’t see astound

clue 4

Carriages Cross, fro and too
Over the dales, hither and sioux
more comes  the reckoning
O'er the song

Clue #5

Ha ha,
Ah  ho, 3 3 -
Georgeous George,
Old man was he
The multi-skilled grappler
Cosmopolitan Epitome
Hankering for clues? Search, aspire, rally!
A peek down the side isn't an ally

Clue #6

It’s been a bad run, fer this big bear
No missus, new car, no rhymen’ for bare
Life’s taken the toll on him – most have turned
Better look hard – or else you’ll get burned

Clue #7

Sticks and stones, they'll break your bones
and anagramming, that'll hurt you
the question to ponder, as you sip from a flask over yonder,
Is Cluemaster Brad? Nope...It's me2.

I always liked that park GF.  Great noodles.  Is Newman Ave around there?  I wonder if there is an address with a number missing that's visible?  I'll probably stop by there tomorrow.

Although there is a Bradley St. over there so that would screw that idea.

GoFish

dale = hollow

carriages cross over the stonebridge

crossing = Phalen creek crossing

triangle Park = 3 sides

railroad is near by

Most have turned = housing burnt down (get burned)

plane....as in horizanal plane?

three lines? triangle?

Nice GoFish!

But who is George, and where does he fit in?????

I will have to look at my map of the park when i get home - is it shaped like a triangle?

I googled newman ave on my map thing the day the clue came out - the only one I found I think was in StillH20.

I think the line Cluemaster Brad? Nope...It's me2 anagrams to something - it says it will hurt you -but I am not sure it means that - cause look at the annas and grams abound in clue 3.  There are a lot of mixed messages throughout - just like that ITS AT COMO HA GOTCHA...

heck - it could be at como still...

I think the line Cluemaster Brad? Nope...It's me2 anagrams to something

I'm just thinking that RB was pointing out that I was off on my noodles and me2 had a few that were right.

Nothing new there ;-)

If that's true, I think that would be the first time anyone has used the actual noodling in this forum to help with a clue.  Very Out-Of-The-Box if you ask me. Cooler!

He also said in his rules he wasn't going to give hints or help.. so it might be a lark..

Look at the anagram thing - several mixed messages - I think he is trying to dizzy us.

Oh Bear... I am so Sad!  I am going to miss your clue tonight!

I waited all evening for it - and I couldn't even sit here and drink beer while I waited!

Perhaps tomorrow night - I have some cappuccino stout just begging me to drink it!

I'm sorry, I thought it was well known - I've been traveling and been in New Orleans since monday, and have had trouble getting to my computer until late.  I've posted clue 8 - clue 9 will be a little early, probably, and we're back on schedule for clue 10 - as I get back home at 12:30 A.M. Friday night.

I *could* use a ride back from the airport, too...

Redbear

Clue 8 - and yes, the spacing was important.  Here's where it gets fun

A list, a list, that's what you will need

some clues to break down- your mind needs a feed

There's two sides to this trail, don't let your ears bleed

 - I'm willing to help, as long as you're looking

from park to park you'll be booking.

A key, a chair, to move in slo-mo

is it three mounds or two? it might be just fo.

Hollow or not? think before you go

"Did he do it?" maybe yes, maybe no

The clues do fit, but could it be como?

And what about west? is it truly the best?

Perhaps challenge: upped - now that's a test

All have been searching, but none have been finding

A. wonderland of parks - a bridge to be bold

You know what 3 means - no need to be told

OK Red, we get it

We suck.  :-0

Anyway, I wanna say it's Navy (Freedom) Island from this clue.  I hate those steps.  I feel like I'm gonna fall through them.  I'll stop down in that area to see what fits.  Then I'll bomb around to the others and see where this crazy hairy animal is trying to send us.

I wanna point out what the 3 might be in case it wasn't mentioned B4.  How about the three sides of the #1 on the bank downtown?  I dunno?  Maybe it is the airport.  Who knows?  Hopefully I'll see ya out there

The clues do fit, but could it be como?

I still won't go.  I'm treating this just like the regular hunt.

P/S - Shit!  I just noticed I wasn't on the noodle thread.  Can you please move me THX?  THX

hey Bear-I can give you a ride- but I don't know how to get in touch with you.
When I pick you up you can give me directions to THE parkyour house.
No really though- I will send you an e-gram- but if I don't hear from you by 11:30 then I won't be able to cause I will be in Roseville then.

Sooooo, had a dream last night.
On the NEWS there was a breaking story, live, from Mounds Park, where kids were playing on the playground in the background and the news woman was talking about the playground equiptment- and how it was made by a company named NEWMAN. So when I get out to Mounds I see Marley out there. And as I pull up to a corner THX was just moving some fake green "porch" grass when he found the treasure.

sorry Bear-I just remembered I can't give you a ride! rrrrr- we have been having troubles with our water pump and thermostat! It is in bad shape and I shouldn't drive unless I have to. Dodge says they will replace them for $500.

Anyone know if thats a good deal? Dealerships usually charge higher than mechanics. Do we have any Cooler Mechanics in here?

Did you keep a close eye on your thermostat oil level.  You need to make sure you change that every 3 months as well.

Fri, 12/03/2004 - 8:05 AM Permalink

I have been in three times to get my oil changed but they are always backed up by 2 hours (they don't take appointments) -so I do need one- I have a coupn deal for them and thats why I have to use them. 4 oil changes for $40.   ---Treasure Chests brother works there and thats why I took my truck there.

Now - the truck smells like coolant cause of a leak somewhere- but it isnt dripping under the truck- only onto the engine.

oh and brought to my attention -which is an awesome outlook by someone NOT in the Cooler:

a flask carries hard liquor NOT beer! so technically we shouldn't be looking at anything related to beer. so Raspberry Shnapps still works. or what bums carry on them to stay warm in a cave.

ok- this sounds funny- yesterday I was talking with someone who we both thought of -maybe Alice

now I see clue #8- the first word "A list" -sounds like Alice

and A. Wonderland could be Alice in Wonderland OR Alison Wonderland - what park is his favorite?

There is snow in Alice so it may not be easy to see- but there are 2 snowmen in Alice (one made by my kids) the other is in th middle of the park-I don't know who did it.

I still like Raspberry -but I dont love it.

what is "ears bleed" - maybe an Alice in Chains tune OR Alice Cooper -anyone know?

Fri, 12/03/2004 - 9:28 AM Permalink
me2

also -the mounds part? there are 6 in Mounds -not 3 or 2
so I don't know quite what to make of that part

no mention of Hidden Falls yet -but to the west could be that or west side

Cross- Crosby

I must have been on crack...i just drove to Alice Park.

3 acres? what was I thinking ...more like 300 sq. feet.

KITCH

I just hate this...I know somebody is in the right park diggin' up a storm...and I still have no clue as to wtf to do.

*only one snowman left in Alice....the one with the "red" thingys. must be pasteys.
