Millet was the old cluewriter along with Boxmeyer.  It's possible he may still be helping with the clues.

And you know they're going to put it in Phalen.  If not Phalen, then Battle Creek.

Realistically, they only have a few parks to put it in, given the nature of the hunters - either Battle Creek, Highland, Hidden Falls, Como (eek!) or Phalen.  They've got to be big, they've got to be nebulous - and they've got to have lots of parking.

If we're starting the pool already, I have dibs on Highland.

Thanks AW! I knew his name was familiar.

I think Merriam would have worked fine had there been snow.  Conway worked fine.  Newell might have worked better if it was hidden better.  Phalen last year never should have gone 12 and it's still pretty difficult to explain how it did without using a conspiracy theory.

I think it has much more to do with how the clues are written and how well it's hidden than it does with park size.

Given that, I think they're itching terribly at this point to hide it in the same park two years in a row, and they couldn't do it at Como without being lynched.

Do you think it will be off limits to put it out at Harriet this year?  Are they done with what ever it was they were doing that stopped it (Construction??)

I like Harriet - it's got lots of history.

What about Cherokee?

actually I think they nixed Harriet last year due to the previous year (como 2003) they had some expensive lighting damaged by overzealous hunters.

Not sure if it'll be back in the running this year or not.

Isn't Vento Trail up along the bluffs by cherokee? there's a geocache there that gets disabled in the winter because they close the trail off.

Personally I like Cherokee, Battle Creek, Como (hey it's been a year), Highland, or Hidden Falls (Phalen if the PP is really daring). Then there's always my favorite park near my work, Newell :)

the vento trail is the one that used to be the burlington northern trail. its the one that starts at 7th and payne, heads northeast through swede hollow, and runs along phalen boulevard from there up to phalen and is where the old rr tracks were on the east side of phalen.

That area west end of Cherokee is called Vento point.  Great view form up there.

Weren't we gonna do a drawing at the pre-dig to determine who picks what park when?  If not, this boy is still stuck in IM again.

I do think it's time for Mounds.

I thought the "new" part of Vento went south of Payne and 7th to the river?

I keep thinkin the pp is scared of IM though. I don't know why, but I just get that impression. Still, I suppose anything could be possible.

What about Central Park in Roseville? 225 acres of virgin puck soil... Maybe they could hide it down by the swampy boardwalk..
