"Speaking of trips, the hallucinations that happened I can't start to relate; it was like being back in college and about as expensive. The team broke into 2 separate strings of dogs running side by side. The dogs fannies all turned into the Muppets with Ms. Piggy being Eleanor, who was coming into heat. I was on the trail too long. Strip malls, radio shows in my head, the smell of creamed corn and my Mother's voice for the first time since she passed away last year. Sleep deprivation and exhaustion lead to some fascinating stuff. I felt like a monk out there. I found myself talking to the Guy in the sky. Again."
The juxtaposition of chemically induced hallucinations and a religious experience is very Zen like.
I loved that part too. Dr. Tim is a very humble man, and has (I sense) struggled much with the spiritual side of things as traditionally presented, yet his spiritual side is deep - just rather confused, like many of the rest of us. I am glad he felt like he got his "drawers" cleaned out. Perhaps the fact that he forgot to pack any underwear for the trip was a metaphor???
When Reba was at the end of her life, and it was "time", Dr. Tim came to our home and we cried as Reba crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge, with Drummer's marimba music playing on the stereo, the sun shining in on her on the blanket, and both of us saying, Good Dog, Good Girl over and over. I'll never forget his kindness.
My little Nikki is back home. A young lady saw one of my fliers that I put all over. She called yesterday and said she had allmost hit him with her car Sat., the evening he got out. Thank you for all your help. I so glad that there is wonderfull people like you and her in this world. I'm a man but I'm crying while typing this mail to you,but it's a happiness cry. Thank you again.
We lost our puppy on Sunday in the West Side area of Saint Paul. He is a 8 mos. old Husky/Boxer mix but he looks like a German Shepherd Mix. He is EXTREMELY FEARFUL of everyone so he is probably hiding in a garage or under a boat or car. If anyone sees him or has and can email me to let me know then I can maybe find him in the area. He was lost off of Smith Ave in Saint Paul just south of the river so he may be around the Cherokee park area or George, Butler or Robert St even maybe. We've done everything to find him, humane society, pound, searches and even talked with the local post office route employees so hopefully someone will see this and can help. Thank You!
this thing is Loud!!! and has times that he is annoying!!!!!
Ara Rubrogenys Red Fronted Macaw, Red Crown or Crowned Macaw 24-25 inches
This macaw mostly green in color, with as it's name implies, a red-fronted forehead. It only has a little bare patch of skin around the eyes, and this is also reddish in color. The upper wing is has orangey-yellow "epaulets" and medium-blue primaries. The rest of the wing is green. The top of the tail is also green, with the undersides being yellow. Reddish thighs. The beak is black, and the feet grey. It's coloration is subtle, but lovely in it's own way.
Red Fronts probably have the least offensive calls of the larger macaws, lacking the harsh screechy quality. They are sweet and amiable, but since they aren't relatively common yet, smuggling can still be a problem, so check your sources carefully. Despite all this, domestic-bred birds can usually be found.
Since these birds can weigh up to half the amount of the large macaws, this makes them good, strong fliers, and they may require a different clip pattern than larger birds. They are also pretty quick on the ground as well, so you have to be very careful that they don't get into mischief. Cost:$900-1200
Im grateful not to have loud birds or barking dogs.
15 yrs ago we had a bird that people could hear the squaking/talking bird in the background over the phone. it was incredibly annoying to the people we talked with by phone. Im glad we don't have the bird any longer.
my boyfriend and his little guy came by my work yesterday 'to see all the big machines' and to get a ride in my golf cart. :sheepish: ' target='_new'>dexy on a barrel
Ya, he is a doll. Him and Dad are fishing today. I just got this - he is quite the little fisherman. I took all 3 fishing a couple months ago, and he caught 10 fish that day!
we unexpectedly got storm's test results back today. the parathyroid test was negative which means cancer. since he wasn't eating, we had him put to sleep this afternoon to keep him from suffering. :crying:
there's a big hole in the house now where he was and tomorrow morning isn't going to be the same for morning treats.
We've been kinda in a similar scary situation with the wiener dog. Merlin's diagnosis was just a few lumps of fat and a sore back, thank God. Xrays and blood samples and biopsies showed nothing.
Didn't make the pain of those humongous vet bills go away, however.
There is health insurance for pets usually ONLY if you get it when they are a pup or kitten. It's not like you can just add a 5 year old dog to a health plan.
Does anyone here have any contacts/know anyone in the Fergus Falls area?
I'm looking for people who can keep their eyes open for lost dog fliers, and perhaps help me compile a list of veterinarians in the area whom I could contact.
I'm trying to help a found male border collie get home to his family. He was found yesterday by a Cooler Crew family member, on I-94, exact location not noted but probably between Fergus and Alex, in farm country, dodging cars and eating deer roadkill.
He is safe and warm now and seems OK. More than that, he is obviously well-cared for and well-trained, but also obviously lost for more than just hours. He was in physical danger when he was rescued off a busy stretch of freeway, and there was no way to take him anywhere else, with the rescuing person not knowing where there might even be a shelter.
We're making every effort to find this dog's family - they have to be missing him terribly. So far, I've posted on 12 lost/found dog websites and notified Ottertail County Humane Society and Midwest Border Collie Rescue. Next I want to contact area vets, as this dog has obviously had vet care and may be well known to a vet in the area.
He will be scanned at the Humane Society this morning, but meanwhile I'm trying to cover the other bases, betting he is not microchipped.
All I'm asking here is, if you know anyone in that area whom I could contact for some brief help, please let me know!
And keep this little guy in your doggie prayers, please!
Way to teach those girls responsibility :eyeroll:
