I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick again - this time no sore throat, but wierd cough and hard to breathe when I'm running. GREAT... another winter with bronchitis.
my car was broken into last night in the Battle Creek area.
some very personal, sentimental and emotional items were stolen besides a handful of change. The guys used a credit card at the BP Amoco at Lexington and 94. They said they may have video but they will only show the police.
I filed a report but we'll see what happens. :frown: I'm pretty crushed.
Was it a quick smash & grab of your purse, or did they root through the whole thing?
Did you have any "Bait" sitting out in plain view in the car, like a cell phone or laptop?
If we go visit some friends anywhere in town and have to leave valuables behind - into the trunk they go. If someone looks into my car it will be full of crap, but a torn up duffel bag and partially stained sweatshirt aren't exactly 'attractive' to thieves. (Also: See previous posts about the 'White Castle' security system)
I'd worry about thieves that root through the whole vehicle for stuff - that means they have little fear of getting caught and will probably do it again. Smash and grabs are usually just punks looking for a thrill.
Ft. Snelling burials and their immensely short services. Less than 10 minutes after ARRIVING... "Don't mean to rush you folks but we have another service arriving shortly".
I knew they were always short on time for you there, but this is ridiculous.
purse was in the trunk but I left my wallet deep in the center console. They pulled open all the compartments and strewed everything all over only taking the change, my old cellphone (charger was right there and they left it) and my wallet that was under stuff in the console. There was some extremely sentimental items.
If you saw where it happened you woulda felt safe too.
I didn't realize I hadn't locked the doors as I usually do.
I was having a good evening and we were just going inside a friends house for a short time that turned in to longer because of the elections. I parked in his driveway....about 20 feet deep in to his driveway and the buggers still came close to the house and 20 feet from the street! wowowow :frown: I'm just so awfully sick about it.
I know how you feel it's happened to me they actually came into my attached garage and stole a bunch of CD's and cash. I felt completely violated. I hope the video is helpful in possibly catching who ever did it.
oh Me2! I'm sorry to hear about that. wow - that's ballsy.
I know you will all shake your head at me, but I leave my purse in my car, and tons of stuff - all the time. I know I shouldn't, and heck, I live in the barrio. but (stupid me) will until something happens..
on the good side? my car isn't as nice as half the others in the hood, so I think I get discounted on that.
I went to a ceremony out there that had a HUGE crowd once. They didn't shoo us out right away (they really couldn't because of the volume of vehicles), but I remember seeing another nearby shelter change over twice, and setting up a third one as we drove out. Makes you wonder where the revolving gate is for the hearses.
WWII, Korean War and some Vietnam era veterans for sure would be. I think it has to do with numbers of those veterans who are aging - and their eligible spouses too. I don't think it would just be economic times.
When my Dad died 30 years ago, we had to wait three days to get a slot of time out there for the burial. He was a WWII vet. He had also been invited to re-up for the Koran war, but chose not to. He would be in his 90s if he had lived. I'm guessing the rushing through is to accommodate the increased number of funerals.
Vietnam veterans would have served in the later 60s and early 70s. That would make most of them in their 60's now. I know most of the guys I know that served are in that age range.

worked my butt of yesterday cleaning the family room... moved the entertainment center and furniture, vacuumed the sectional pieces, sorted through 100 movies making sure they all were in the right box and were there.... scrubbed the walls, dusted, reconnected the TV, DVD, VHS, Stereo, Tape Drive and Record player so they all worked again... took over 5 hours to complete.
Stopped cleaning to make dinner - fed the family and fell asleep. Work this morning to find several movies NOT PUT AWAY - TV Trays out and not wiped down and blankets thrown in the room.... needless to say I lost it.
being stuck in a house with 30 of my friends for the weekend. I love them, but sometimes, man, they just don't stop... then saturday night, we had a stripper... I think my ears are still ringing from the screams.
oh, and I'm pretty sure I have 2 broken toes from Soccer. Then I played 2 more games on them. they are taped very tightly today, and I'm walking like a penguin.

I'm trying to dial back on caffeine and I've gotten about six of those buggers in the last few weeks. Where is Boardwalk when you need it?
I needed "just one more" of pretty much everything on the board.
we've had that happen here a few times in the past couple years.... its never a fun thing..
well... unless like the one time they took my car radio that didnt even work...
haha... suckers... did me more a favor, than anything....

There must be a larger quantity of WWII vets (that are pushing 80+ years old) - versus Korea or Vietnam.
my irratant turned to good news - posted good news actaully over in shoot the breeze - cops caught the bad guy.
