Okay, so I see a special on the travel channel last night about donuts (You know, the travel channel seems to be more and more like the food network these days). And it brought up my interest in finding a good place for donuts left in the cities since the demise of Krispy Kreme and most of the places I knew about.
So I tried this place called Donut Hut in Little Canada. Granted I got in there around 9:30, all they had was one tray of donuts. Hardly a selection for a place that specializes in donuts. I guess I'll have to give it one more try to be fair really early one morning. Anyways, the search continues I guess.
I just thought it was a little too weird. Oddly enough you can get married at the place (is portland like vegas?). Although their maple bacon donut sounded like it might be good.
Over in good 'ol Nordeast - Johnson street (by the old "Nan's") - check out ... Dorthy Ann Bakery. All homemade/handmade baked goods...delicious breads too
Theres a good place in South St Paul close to 3rd ave I think. If going west on 694 get off on 5th and 6th exit and go past 3rd ave a couple blocks and its right there.
no actually that's still going fine. Everything in moderation ya know (I don't think I'd ever keep at a diet where I could never have something I like once in a while, it just wouldn't stick).
Granny's Donuts is hands-down the best place for donuts. I am so glad that place is still open. A piece of my soul died when Mr. Steak left WSP in like 1988 and still hasn't recovered. That is when I turned to Capri-Suns to drown my sorrows and life got hazy until I hit puberty. . . 16 years later!!!
Me? No. Diggerous Rex talked about someone he knew. I have since found out that there is a laser machine at school that can do it, but I havn't talked to the guy that can do it yet. Still working on it. They can burn anything. Just need a picture. Not sure if he's willing to do anything yet though.
I was told the laser actually cuts the shape you want and engraves it. All done from a picture loaded into its computer. The guy I talked to said you can do glass, plastic, wood, soft metal, pretty much anything all from a picture. I'd like to do some mugs with the cooler logo if I can.
shoot just look at 3M's avatar. That medallion was etched with a laser. As for cutting out the circle, it'd have to be polished. Lasers are a great cutting tool, but they don't make a clean edge. Plus they might have trouble cutting through a 3/4 inch piece cleanly.
I think there is a place in MOA that dose that My aunt had one dun up of her daughter that died in 83 form some weard thing I cant rember what it was!! but she got one for my mom and it is round and looks kool thats what I was thinking about doing for my hunt!!!
I just need a stable number that I can put on it!!
Gordy and I will be here tonight if anyone wants to meet us for a couple drinks, we are not staying late though, our friends band is on first and we will probably start heading back home shortly after that.
Clue Master, one of my sons stopped over tonight and left early because he has to work tomorrow in downtown Minneapolis. I asked where he's working and it's your building. He's doing some plumbing demo on the 20th-24th floors. He'll be there Monday too. You should look him up. He's the guy with the bald head and the long beard. His name is Ken.

The Etching should be fairly simple, it's finding the stock lucite or acrylic in a 3/4" thickness that's a pain.

Flames were painted today. Drying now.
YAY
