1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

I like the kstp idea. How 'bout a radio? (stretch) I think keeping score has got to have something to do with it. Sports, something to do with sports. hmmmm

4, 5, and 9 are TV stations

Wampa2-great idea! But, these numbers must also have something to do with sports - keep score. How does it relate?

Hullo all, what's the word so far? Do people still think Newell or BC?

The 4th, 5th, and 9th letters of the alphabet can spell "DIE"

So they want us all to die while looking for the med?? :)

I'm guessing by saying, maybe the KSTP item is a sporting item with the logo on it?

Not quite sure?

Highway 5 rolls right along Highland, but is 94 or 494 anywhere near?

Two Face-

some knew by the 4th, most by the 8th.

I don't think those numbers will reveal any roads or highways, "somewhere a four" just doesn't fit. 94.5 KS95 is the best yet

Isn't KSTP on University Ave close to the 280 intersection? There is a small park/playground there called South St. Anthony Playground.

Don't take this too far.

WGC- I agree. The KSTP theory is by far the most logical so far.

Wampa, we need thinkers like you

Isnt Mounds rather close to the St Paul airport?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 2:53 PM Permalink

Mounds is very close to the St. Paul airport - you can see it from the park. How does 5, 9 and 4 fit with mounds?

Doc Sven- I think I might know you true identity

I am not sure, maybe it is an address of some sort. Has anyone checked that park out?

Someone earlier mentioned something about has anyone every been there when the medallion was found....True Story.. my parents about 15 years ago seen a gentlemen dress in a suit walking out of the woods on a rainy day... low and behold thats where it was found.....

I think the person with the 94.5 stuff is right on.....But what park is the hard park.. I think como.... however 9-5=4 4=nil nil=not in line with 45 in the angle from the slide...

Scoreboard is on the football field east of the intersection of Montreal and Snelling on Montreal.

Where is KS95 located?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 3:42 PM Permalink

I'm still thinking its Phalen. I went out there today and found some softball fields (9 players if you're thinking along baseball lines). There's a field number #5 with field #4 somewhere nearby. Its a thought though I'm not real confident about it. I was for a second though when I saw a nearby gate with a bunch of nines on top of it until I reaized they were eyebolts and not nines. Oh well.

Steve

There is a Scoreboard at H.P.H.S. track & stadium.

It boarders the Golf course on the western side.

KS95 IS KSTP. KSTP-FM, 94.5 to be exact. (as opposed to KSTP-AM)

AM KSTP is out of the station on Hwy. 61 in White Bear Lake. Not sure about KS95.

Wampa2 do you think it's at Highland...

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 3:46 PM Permalink
HawkEye

I'm not sure about KS95, no parks or golf courses nearby nor sledding hills.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 3:47 PM Permalink
Wampa2

Question:

Does KSTP-AM cover sporting events?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 3:48 PM Permalink
SEASONED VET

KS95 is non-sense. No major parks and this one will be in a large not small size park...
