It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Batlle Creek also has baseball fields, basketball court. Why not Battle Creek? How about the medallion being hidden inside a miniature safe, using the numbers to open the front door of the safe?

I think that It might be at como, it's worth a lot of $ this year and como is a big park plus i think the downhill thing has to do with the skiing that's offered there

Yeah I was having trouble posting. Brian you can rule out Battle Creek park already, whenever they put it there in the past they keep the hunt in Ramsey County in the first clue because half of the park isn't even in St. Paul. Since they said St. Paul this year that rules out battle creek. But how can you say its not it Newell yet, there's nothing to say it couldn't be there or in 35 other parks in St. Paul.

things to remember is that the hunt is put o by PP not carnival, they base the clues on landmarks not special things or events, They most likely wouldn't relate it to the slide at como. They would relate it to a permanent object.

At Newell 1 baseball field=9 baseball players, 1 basketball court= 5 basketball players, and 2 tennis courts=4 tennis players ??????????

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:42 PM Permalink
Dave

Why not? as good a chance as anywhere else.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:43 PM Permalink
calvinator

I still think that it has to do with a golf course, not on it, but if you add up 9 plus 5 and 4 = 18, 18 holes???

Ms. Milwaukee

Someone go to the barn and ask Bobby Knight since we're all so confused

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:45 PM Permalink
Step

I see what you are saying about the numbers, but the chances are SO small to have it at a little park...that's all.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:45 PM Permalink
No user inform…

clue 3 says a nine and a five if its talking baseball and basketball its a park with one of each, the four(fore) is a golf course what yall think

I so sick of the big park thing I want to believe so badly that it may be in a small one, its been so long, and everyone is predicting a big park this year.

Well look at it this way Highland has a 18 & 9 , Phalen has 18, so does como!!

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:47 PM Permalink
Step

that clue with the numbers refers to what the medallion is IN, in my opinion. someone posted an awesome point this afternoon and it sold me!

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:47 PM Permalink

Phalen has baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf !

One thing for all to know about HP, the facilities used by HPSHS are not their property like most think for some reason.

that point sold me to on what it is most likely in

Hey Step what was the point

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:49 PM Permalink

What about the front door? And the Flying downhill, could it refer to skiing?

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:49 PM Permalink
Ms. Milwaukee

Hey step, what was said this afternoon???

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:49 PM Permalink
Ms. Milwaukee

Ball fields at como have numbers on the backstops, anyone know which field is #4???

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:50 PM Permalink

I know this is kind of dumb reasoning, but I think it's in a big park this year because it's worth so much more money. Next year it'll be in a small park. There'll be too many people looking for it this year for it to be in a small park.

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:53 PM Permalink
calvinator

my thoughts exactly

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:54 PM Permalink
MedallionGuy

yeah it is not the one's by the slides there is field 4 back by the pony rides and field 3 is there too. 5 and 6 are by the rec center. 1 and 2 are by the slide

Tue, 01/26/1999 - 6:54 PM Permalink

I think it might be at como because the clubhouse address is 1431, 1 and 4 equals 5. 3 + 1 = 4, and all the numbers equal 9. Look on the hill overlooking the golf course, sliding hill, and lake. Also the numbers could correspond to the golf clubs themselves. Like a nine iron ,a five iron, and four iron. What do you think?

Step- Did you find the medallion at Phalen yet?

Is it 11:30 yet?

The comment this afternoon was based on the assumption that 9 and 5 go together, not neccessarily the 4 with it. Since the third clue historically hints at the containter it could be in a KS95 bag (9 and 5, or if you prefer, 94.5 has all 3)

jim--no. Are you looking there?

One of the things throwing me off is usually in clues 2 or 3 water is mentioned. No mention of water yet. Highland and newell have the least water of all parks.
