It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Sister Sister
What do you guys think "adorn the front door" means? I like the math book idea. On the same train of thought, maybe its in a score book of some sort - like for softball.
I agree with the KS95 thing being off. Why would they single out and give free publicity to one station - especially if they aren't giving any publicity for the Hunt.
Channel 9 news, however, has really been covering the hunt and hyping it up.
Angela What's the door? On the front door adorn? 3rd clue. Could it be on a door knob? Are the numbers an address on a front gate? Or are they the numbers on a score board?
For all those thinking KS95 has something to do with it, check out the winter carnival brochure that lists the sponsors. KS95 doesn't seem to have a damn thing to do with the winter carnival.
allright 7th is 5 on the east side of HP, the nine hole is the west side of HP, there are 4 tennis courts a ways away-"somwhere a four", and the big sliding hill on the resevoirs are a ways away. All of these are within the area and make boundaries for the middle, open part of the park.
is there any way it could be at Phalen? I was just thinking, odds-wise, it hasn't been there for a few years, whereas it has been at Highland recently...and if you're talking a big park, and one with a golf course, wouldn't that be the logical choice?
Heh. I don't understand why everyone is bantering, "I know it's at phalen. It has a golf course." I can't seem to dig up any other information about what's good about that park. I really wish people would speak up or shut up about Phalen. I'm kinda sticking with Highland. Went out there at 3:30 this morning, scoped everything out. And, apart from the front door aspect of the clue (which I'll work on more tonight), hwy 5's junction nearby and the "4th precinct" police department (don't get caught) seem to be gosh darn convincing.
Just from a precautionary measure, too, Highland seems logical. One: It's huge. HUGE, compared to the feasable digging area of Cherokee. (I was atop that hill for days before others were) Many people are going to look, and there's space for everyone to do so. It's almost discouraging, how immense that park is. I'm not letting it discourage me, though, as the clues will point out a decent little area for me to sniff out. :) And, point 2: That police station is a novel place, should people get a tad out of hand (which they did, to a point, last year), both before and when the medallion is found. The peace will be kept. I hope this clue locks down what the medallion is in or a better area for me to look at.
If anyone wishes to meet up tonight, I finally got me cell phone working, 651-503-4164, I'll be heading out to Perkins after I hunt around tonight with some maps and etc to think. Anyone's welcome.
Como has undercover "security" there.....they are in civilian cars. They didn't straight up say "don't dig here"....they said "can I help you find anything"?
I said "We're just scoping out the area for the medallion hunt" they got on their radio's and said something like "10-4 on this suspect" type talk....then they said "well this isn't a parking lot" how funny?
The roads are terrible. It's raining/sleeting. This will add a new layer to the snow. But before it rained, it was easy to swoosh through the snow with a hoe. You can cover lots of ground. Highland is extremely large. It felt like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Discouraging. But, hey, you've got to start somewhere. I'll stay there until I have a good reason to leave and go to a new park. I had half of Mound dug up in six days last year before I moved to Cherokee.
There were people wandering around; not many, though. Can't wait to see a few more people out there; unless, of course, I leave for a new park.
I think it might still be Como. You were harrassed there by actual cops? How do you know it wasn't med. hunters getting rid of the competition? I haven't been on yet today...anyone give me the thus far Highland clues?

can anyone think of what "5" might have to do w/it at HP
Snake 1 - your picture is too big
Figures stikes me as being not a problem but a figure no math either tink tink tink
SNAKE where did you scrape?
ok KS95 doesnt have to have anything to do with the Winter Carnival because the PP puts on the Hunt.
It doesn't matter if KS95 is affiliated with the hunt or not. It was in a Skoal tin one year, and I don't think they were a sponsor...
w.7th is hwy 5....which runs by highland
Maybe within shouting distance of the fourth and fifth holes on Highlands 9 hole course. Pretty far fetched?
HP AND DROVE BY NP
Hunting hermy you out there
what is Np Newell
good point kids...i think we all have to chase our tails a little while longer
Does anyone have any thoughts that it is hidden between two cards from a deck ( a nine & a five ?)
hey rosco its me the happy hunting hemafrodite, way to stick it to them

regalman, we like your boundry theroy....we've been thinking along the same lines
Heck, I hope its Highland, because I dont have to go as far :)
You may be on to something Regalman. Either that or you're on something!!
4 could also refer to fort road......another name for 7th
como park minnie golf. big hill behind cat den by golf corse. Public land?
dave, it could be "ford" pkwy too.
I went out surveying tonight...its definitely not Como. We were harassed by security there

Phalen doesn't have Downhill anything that's popular. I think my prediction is Highland

does any one think it could be hilcrest in highland park.it fits all of the clues.
Vicki: A policeman offered to help you find the medallion? Cool!
heyheyhey
Birdie is in the house again. So it's Highland or Newell!
its too early for any park clue
I said "We're just scoping out the area for the medallion hunt" they got on their radio's and said something like "10-4 on this suspect" type talk....then they said "well this isn't a parking lot" how funny?
Keller's golf course is private...rule this one out people
How far is the Policae station from HP??
I agree Regalman....I'm scared to see what its like in here at around 11:30.... Probably shutting them down....
in the park birdie
All the clues fit NP and HP, will tonight's clue tell which one?
I'm ruling out NP
