Ok....in that misunderstanding who was going to take Zeph out and about..... I will say... I didn't relieze you thought it was you guys and us....
I thought it was going to be a crew wide effort.....I honestly didn't know you intended or thought it would be just us four. When it was orginally talked about I thought it was going to be handed off to other people. After the first couple days it appeared to me that you guys were infact happy handling the Zeph portion of the operation.
I can't speak for other people questioning the hows and whats. But I can say that I know how that feels when you step up to so something and others question the manner in which you do it.
people who never even spoke up and said "hey what can we do?"
I sure am to blame for that one- I was so busy with other things that I didn't offer anything but m&m's and a couple of buttons.
There were quite a few times I got a call telling me where Zeph was gonna be incase I (or anyone else I knew) wanted to show up. I was also asked to post where he would be (and even call people too) once in a while so others could go. I may be partially to blame for not helping all the time with that.
I know the efforts were made on Jase and Sues part to get the word out as much as possible -there was just so much running around though and you had to be there between certain times -in some cases only a 10 minute window!-it was tough-

And yes... like Steph said.....
If we had been the ones dragging him around.... would he have seen half of what he got to see?
With our schedules and distance.... there is no way we could compare with what Sue was able to do.
The misunderstanding I see is that we thought it was more of a crew as a whole thing. Someone would take him one day, someone else another. I didnt realize you understood that it was supposed to be the 4 of us. If that were the case we probably would have taken more of part in bringing him. But that said, if we had done that he would not have done all the stuff he did.....
i guess looking back on it i was hoping it would have been more of a cooler project as a whole than it was too. in the end, i'm glad it we did end up carrying him to everything he did. the experiences that we never knew existed within the realm of the winter carnival was absolutely amazing, and the people we ran into. he turned into an icon overnight. and i'll tel ya, we'd do it again too. (although we would try and sneak in more time for medallion hunting though :)

and honestly, i'd encourage anyone else to do it again too. although they might have to fight with me over it. :)
I know that you had mentioned to me at one point that you were upset that you thought we were trying to take credit for things by posting where to be and when to be for things you guys had set up.
I can honestly say in those instances as well we were only acting on requests from Sue to point the info in trying to get the word out there.
In all that was happening I was just as excited to see what else you came up with.
well, i guess reading 'em at the time, under all the tension that had been building, that's how it all sounded when i read it. if that wasn't the case, i apologize for taking it that way and insinuating that that's how it was meant.
IÂ sure am to blame for that one- I was so busy with other things
Yeah, I heard there was a medallion hunt or something going on around that time.
Oh and as long as we are deleting posts in which private conversations were revealed... KITCH YOU BASTARD!Â
1) what I said was in a private IM
2) that was not word for word like you professed it to be
DELETE THE POST... NOW
(just kidding)
Â
Honestly I have to apologize for my actions during the whole thing. I saw 2 nice people getting attacked (dan and steph) who I considered my friends and I don't take kindly to that sort of thing so I defended them. In the course of the arguments/misunderstandings I became overly heated and went to a personal level that it didn't need to go to, for that I am sorry. Next time, may cooler heads prevail!
Â
I apologize if they read that way.
Samich Joe! - Can I pick the bread I want?
wouldn't this next one be the best???
regardless of any rants and bitching I may have done.
I have said it before all this shit went down... and I'll say it again....
Sue and you did some great stuff with Zeph. From the very start I was laughing my ass off at the things you guys came up with.
accepted and accepted. and agreed, tim.

thanks dan. its appreciated. as is you getting the cutout on which the whole thing was made
[Edited by on Apr 13, 2005 at 10:36am.]
Whats else you got Ares? Seems to me there was tons of stuff but now that I look over it the pile seems to be pretty small.

That was the least I could do.....I will admit sneaking the guy past the front desk guard was a task in itself :) but worth it.
ESD was a saviour in getting Zephs head printed up. I didn't have the resources here to make something that quality and size.

chchallengen itself
but not as challenging as spelling challenge, right?
Screw you Timmers
Screw you Timmers
You know it's bad when you resort to stealing lines from THX to come back at me.Â
yeah, no shit. i got some beefs with a couple of things i read from other folks in that thread, but they know who they are, and i'll chalk their statements up to them not knowng the content matter of which they speak.
and ya know i just realised what my tagline was potentially derogatory so i changed it to an old one. i encourage anyone else who's got anything slamming anyone else in theirs to do the same.
btw, i also unblocked you two from cc.com/forum. we all need someplace to go when this place gets shut down (which i read today we're only $200 away from the deadline being extended to june 30th. not that i give two shits, but that's where its at).
Anyway, I'm glad this exchange has started.
I'll post more when I get time (which I don't know when that will be).
I just wanted to apologize to EVERYONE for all that's happened.
Now I gotta run.
[Edited by on Apr 13, 2005 at 10:52am.]
Ok... heres a point I know that added to tensions.... and I want to address it because everything is being put out there.
I know alot of people were disturbed and bothered by the prospects of "changes to the crew" Be it the logo or a new crest or what have you.
Alot of these feelings I believe came to terms because people have put alot of hard work into the things here that people can't see. People assume because they see no changes to the Coolercrew web site that must mean that Ares isn't doing anything. They assume that since JT hasn't set up new threads here for upcoming events that he's not doing anything.
Along those same lines I think that the conversations about changes and such were brought about for good reasons but read the wrong way.
While some people were hurt in the fact that their work and value were questioned unintenitonaly the reverse is probably also true.... those who haven't been here as long or aren't able to give as much in the past might have also been made to feel a lesser person because they have not bteen here as long and perhaps they feel their word is not valued at all.
Again.... sour feelings and tense moments.... good intentions but bad results
People assume because they see no changes to the Coolercrew web site that must mean that Ares isn't doing anything.
or greg sax back when it was his baby. nothing ever changed between march and december :) i mean hell, i've still got a few days worth of zephy pics to caption and get up there. this whole thing that ended up happening turned me off to doing it for a while. but that past is behind me, and one of these days there'll be some new pictures from 2005 posted.
I can't speak for eveyone in the crew about that subject...I can say first that when it come to cooler stuff.... I'm a maniac for having it.
The second I saw Jana post that she had Scarfs I was the first one to order two from her.
But when it came time to talk about logos...Sue did say and was probably right... me2 might have had her feelings hurt when people started talking about all the changes considering how much work she had put into getting those scarfs put together.
For me and Steph that was not our intentions at all. The thought never came up as a matter of fact. We had things we wanted to bring to the table as well and didn't associate them with what others had done. We wern't trying to Remake buttons or Remake Scarfs or Remake bumper stickers.
We were going for the hats and earmuffs :). It was something that hadn't been tried yet and we figured why not do it.
AS to the logo portion of that it's the same thing as anywhere else. The subject was out there.... No matter how it got started or who brought it up... it was being talked about. So for my part in that... it was about getting a choice made. People were milling about talking and nothing was going anywhere.
We have such a large group that it's impossible to get things done a perfect way for everyone. I think we all just forget that.
[Edited by on Apr 13, 2005 at 11:07am.]
So me2 ... if your feelings were hurt please accept my apology... it was the farthest thing from our minds.
it was about getting a choice made. People were milling about talking and nothing was going anywhere.
OTS-I dont think you did anything wrong here with that. I personally was peaved cause it was over a year in the works where I purposely waited to make sure there was not gonna be a change in logo. It was surprising and disappointing, but I wasn't angry.
If anything there would just be another set up fee - and the price would have to be the same to cover that additional expense where as next year the same price could have included the persons screen name :(Â
mater o fact- my daughter just asked me yesterday how much I made off of them. I told her that after we donated 3? and I have 2 still left over that I didn't make anything-and that was the intention- to give the lowest price for the most embroidery work. But if the logo changes than either the price goes up for names or stays the same (different color scarf) to cover set up fees again.
It is just a bummer to have to explain that over and over to anyone who wants one.

As to the website(s)....
There was never an initial attempt by me to take over, do harm or take away from Coolercrew and Ares. Having said that, Ares and I both have diffrent ideas and styles and goals with our websites. I respect him for his hard work on the wite and for his talent as well. If before any of this stuff came up I said something that makes my stance on that seem reversed then I apologize. After all this went down I said a lot of things that were situational and should honestly be discounted as such.
So here you have it...You have it here in Blue and Dark blue.
Ares is the Webmaster for the Coolercrew.
I don't believe it has ever been argued to be any diffrent then that.
I'm just a coolerhead who has his own site. It happens to be about the Cooler Crew. My intial intentions were to put a face to everyone here and give them a little more access to get things out there that they normaly can't get online.
Somethings do get duplicated from time to time... and I try hard not to let that happen. When those things are brought to my attention I try to act quickly in removing them. The intial Zeph pics were my fault. I only saw them posted in the PF and did not know that Ares had a plan of action nor that they were posted on Cooler Crew. I made an error in grabbing them without checking the whole deal
Cooler Crew is a historical place about everything cooler.....I would never try to take away from that.
Coolertimes is just in (my opinion) different. Not a threat and not a ding on anyone. When people ask that things be posted like videos and silly stuff I offer up the space and bandwidth to everyone here. I try to use the page to help other cooler heads get their ideas out there.
Be it Med hunters book or the Mappys book. THese things are done sometimes without being prompted. Always for the crew.
Never with intentions of hurting Ares or Cooler Crew.
Jason.... Please ask Sue to come back to the threads. When she gets better that is.
I always thought the sites complimented eachother well and should be linked.
Excellent work on both sites!

On a lighter note.... I thought I'd share this with the rest of the crew after getting the doctor's results back yesterday... I'm officially 4 wks and 2 days pregnant... after having miscarriage #2. :) Looks like it'll be a mid to late Dec baby, which means I most likely won't be out to hun this next med hunt, but I'll be out and about, and on the forum :D
won't be out to hun this next med hunt
What kinda hunter are you to not plan these things properly?! j/k hahahaha
Congratulations MM & M!
lol thanks me2.... I know I know... lol but ya know.... once he or she gets big enough to carry one of those lil plastic shovels...lol don't think I won't have him/her out there diggin!! ;)
[Edited by on Apr 13, 2005 at 12:01pm.]
Well congrats on that MM :)
I go for my first OB visit on the 26th of this month and get the first ultra sound :) I can't wait!!
Thanks OTS!! :D
Â
I'm kinda scared tho.... twins run on both my parent's sides of the family, and also on both of Marks.... so the odds.... are rather high I think of having twins.... if not more.
I will only speak for myself here....But I know there are others about talking in Egrams still discussing issues that were brought up here on the table.
To those who were hurt by discussions or judgements by me I can only say I am sorry you were hurt by them. Like Steph said before it was never ment to be read by others nor was it ment to hurt you.
Yes the crew has been hurting for quite sometime with all this nonsense both the findings of the "BC" and the issues that occured prior to that. I hope that it will be possible for all those involved to take a minute and consider what it they loved about this place.
Because it's those things that I love that brought me here in the first place.
I hope in light of this that others who have issues with people here will at least bring those issues to light be it here or one on one.
I believe that we would not have been in this place we are now had I tried talking to someone before things rolled out of hand.

hahaha. wimp :). who was it that was 9 months pregnant out in conway hunting? now that's a dedicated hunter.
Congrats MM!
Okay, blah, blah, blah. This place is getting mushy!
Can we talk about the Vulcs now?
:)
why not? seems they're in as much of a pickle as we got ourselves into here, or more of one. my personal opinion on the matter is that tom will get off on the criminal charges (hey for every one of them that says she was groped, theres 2+ vulcs who can say she wasn't), but not the civil case. he'll end up getting hung there on the reputation of the vulcans. what truly sucks about it is that from what i've heard (from multpile semi-independent sources) is that none of this was an issue until one of the bartenders went home and told her cop-boyfreind about it. and the fact that they filed the civil suit before the criminal case was even settled is just shitty and indicative of the fact that all they want is money.
lol Ares... I'll show ya a wimp when I throw a poopie diaper your way ;) just kidding!!! I've estimated my due date to be about the 19th of Dec, give or take a few days, so the baby will be born BEFORE the hunt starts LOL.
I agree about him getting off on the criminal charges. There is too much discrepency among witnesses in the bar that evening to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt. The civil case will probably be settled out of court and I expect a similiar case will be filed against the owner of Alarys as well.
Whatever happens, he has already paid a heavy price personally and professionally.
The only good that can come out of this is if they open up Vulcdom to women!:)
The only good that can come out of this is if they open up Vulcdom to women!:)
If by good you mean the 2nd to worst case scenerio (the worst being that the vulcs disband) .
BLASPHEMY!
Won't happen. There can be no spring or summer without the Vulcs.
Â
OMG Freddy vs Jason is on... lol now I know why I grew out of those movies...
Grew out of them... I own them!
So Mark and I already have names picked out for the baby... or even the possibility of babies.... if the baby's a boy, we're naming him Charles Joseph, after my late grandfather. If the baby's a girl we're naming her Jessica Gail, Gail being Mark's mom's name who died when he was 5.
Not like this has anything to do with what's being discussed.... just rambling... :)
Ares just showing me how to keep the avatars in your profiles on coolertimes up to date in real time.
I'll be working on that when time permits.
Very cool!
I expect a similiar case will be filed against the owner of Alarys as well.
as well one should, if its true that the manager instructed the bartenders to allow the vulcs to perform the ritual on them. what's the charge again? oh yeah. sexual harassment.
What's wrong with naming the baby Trygve?
Â
oh, wait, I know why...
Â
don't get it. why not?
