lol I told Mark I only plan on having 2 kids..if I'm lucky a boy and a girl and then I'm gettin tied, fried, stitched, burned, taped, lol anything they can do. He was kinda disappointed but I said hey.. unil you pop the kids out... lol we aren't having more than 2. Who knows tho.. after the baby's born I may change my mind... anything's possible!

Well fine, since you collect them and all. Here, it was kind of getting a bit uncomfortable in my pocket.

The national Comcast DNS servers are down...DNS stands for Domain Name System (or Service) it an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Every time you use a domain name a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address. For example, the domain name www.Peoplesforum.com might translate to 198.105.232.4.

But if a server goes down the system moves to another server. In this case it looks like the amount of traffic was to much for the servers they still had working so that causes people with Comcast to drag. In some cases your internet will stop working all together.

Right now they have switched to local market servers while they work on things at a national level.

my personal opinion, otis is that there's no reason for you guys to be using national dns servers on your network. it forces name lookups to go to a national level from customers, when the vast majority of them could be handled at a local level to the root dns servers via the local pop. puts the traffic on someone else's network. :)

I agree... but it's not my area. I'm a Local network guy....and not on the IT level.... I deal with plant..

My HSI guys have been screaming to get control of our stuff at a local level for 5 years now.

Otis - Could you find a way to fix this internet thingy? Any idea how long it's going to be this way? I can't seem to get much of anywhere on the net. This is a nice place, but I do have other places to visit. I have yet to reach the last page of the internet.
