anybody that has host access (paying $10 or not) has the ability to edit posts.

"Dr. Clue" is not a paying member and was able to edit this post....

also...it is possible to read all normal threads (such as shoot the breese) if you can "search" for threads ...its kinda hard...and a pain in the ass...but it can be done...

not much help...but it is possible that redbear edited the post....

hey i never insinuated that anyone in particular did it. just that someone did. and i simply wanted to know who it was.

I do know who it was, Just in the sake of honor etc... I think that Host person should have the opportunity to fess up to the deed.

I found a loop hole in "non-paying" members to read our threads...

all they need to do is search for posts....

such as "clue" and they can pick a thread and read it.

is there anyway to prevent this????

Plain and simple - I'm tired of petty crap being tossed my way. I'm tired of petty bashing being allowed to continue under the pretenses that it's to solve "problems".

If there was an issue with Redbears post three weeks ago then why let it sit?

If a mod was aware of it why was it not addressed then.

I explained once that rebears name being left off the list wasn't intentional. If I was looking to pick on people on a basis of personal feelings I can assure you that there would be a lot more empty spaces.

So having said all that I will say I'm sorry for adding to the problems already at hand.

Decide what it is you need to do and carry on.

because i wasn't positive where it was, ots. i've been around webx long enough to know what a deleted post looks like.

besides that's not the point. we had a perfectly legitimate post that had someone's name attached to it that no one had to dig for. let me say for the record that editing posts for reasons other than violations of the code of conduct is completely inappropriate behavior for any of us moderators and a blatant abuse of the power with which we have been entrusted. we cannot sanitize the threads for our own benefits, because we don't like what our fellow posters have said.

yup. i was aware of the post. just couldn't find the evidence. and as a result, there was no reason to bring it up. like everyone else agreed to this morning, we all have better things to do than look for a single deleted post among the 20000 here.

how exactly would that have been addressed? by us all going on a wild goose chase? you haven't seen me even post on the matter when its come up other than to say i've never been certain it was even in the cooler? would you have rather gone looking for it? i think not. that's more drama than we need here. as far as using me as an example of your defense, don't. what you did was indefensible. and you are responsible for your actions.

simply responding that you'd added it back to the list would have been sufficient. none of us gets to play god here. none of this got run by the rest of us before you did it.

wrong answer. what you did was unconscienable. and you are responsible for it. you're trying to muddy the water with another issue entirely. one did not lead to the other. you simply didn't want to lose face because of redbear's absense from your list. regardless of the reason for that. you had no right to edit ot's post to cover that fact up.

why did you use the moderator user id to do the deed? trying to cover up the editing because you knew it was wrong to do it yourself?

Whether someone likes anyone else or not isn't the issue. I feel cheated that I didn't know about a friend's mother at the time. I feel betrayed that anyone would take it upon themselves to edit or delete posts contrary to what we said we would do here.

I understand that Terry. As I stated I'm sorry for any issues that it might have caused you. I'm sorry that you have been made to feel betrayed.

In my mind the fact that Redbears post dissapeard is a much larger issue then anything we are discussing. That single issue only lead to more issues that we allowed to tumble to where we are now.

honestly guys i'm not positive it was ever under the cooler threads. i couldn't find it anywhere. neither ot or bear asked for assistance on finding it. i looked anyway. couldn't find anything that was deleted. didn't care to add to the drama without *fact*. ot, however, came to me this morning requesting assistance regarding her edited post. that got brought to everyone's attention. without any request for assistance, there's no need to bring anything to the rest of the group. if we did, there'd be nothing but drama around here.

It was only last evening that I learned about any of this.

I am deeply disappointed and sadly surprised.

We need to let OT know something.

I am afraid that as people realize who isn't moderating that there will be fingers pointed in OTS direction.

I don't wish that to happen. He came clean and that couldn't have been easy.

I don't know how that can be avoided.
