All slogged up. Had the afternoon off, and spent it dropping cash at Sam's Club and then doing some baking and laundry....LAME!
Just don't have a *good* feeling yet about any one park. I see a lot pointing to Swede and Harriet, don't know if I can bring myself to Como...
I remember now that I had wanted to buy a snowsuit type get-up for the hunt in case it got really cold. Of course I never did...have a good jacket, hat and gloves though. I will have to KNOW where I'm going to get me out after the clue tonight! Otherwise, we'll likely be out early in the am to see what can be seen.
I'm a newbie at Facebook -- need to get my daughter to teach me how to use it I guess. I am not THAT old! At least I didn't think I was, but more and more my kids are telling ME how things work
See if this works. In the right hand corner of the page is a video of a high school wrestling match and that's my oldest grandson loosing his match. It's from a Rochester TV station. He's the first wrestler, Nathan Bennett. He's only an 8th grader.
My kids and I text, email, and Skype alot. And we chat on Facebook. I always wanted to show them my NYC photos so I dumped them on Facebook and now they have seen them!
Lol, now there's a board that needs a moderator. I have neve heard such filth in all my life and I'm a military veteran, if you get my drift. I want to get a message to one person there and I just can't do it without telling everybody else. I've got a plan though, when I see her online I'll post her quick and delete the message right away and hope not many of the kooks over there get it.
Skype is yet another thing I need education on....my SIL uses it quite often, we talked a little about it when she was here for a visit - but I'd forgotten about it till just now.
I know. lol I keep watching it. He's only an eighth grader and just got moved up to varsity so he's wrestling kids with more experience, but he's having fun.
I would say it would depend if you wanted to concentrate on the "lookout" type area to the East or the lower end on the West. By the lookout there is some on street parking...I think it's Greenbrier (?) off of East 7th.
On the other end, I'd look for Drewy off of Payne/Minnehaha....don't have a map in front of me, so not sure exactly where it falls...but there is a pedestrian tunnel sort of thing from there.
I've wanted to get in touch with Park Mapper too, but my email is messed up and I haven't had access for almost a week now so I couldn't read his reply anyway.
Have I told you I hate Smart Zone?? Are you listening Mr. Nimrod??
Skype is like a free internet phone thighy....if you have free long distance to talk to Brenda, I'm not sure if it would mean much to you....but Dad's sister has been living across the pond for the past 15 years, so it is a godsend for her to talk to the parents that are here.
I turned mine down hours ago, Terry. That's why I fell asleep. I went up to read in my bed because I was cold and it has a heated mattress pad and fell asleep. My hands are freezing!
One of the reasons I replaced my old cell phone was for long distance. I don't have long distance on my land line any longer and with a daughter and two sisters living out of town I figured it was a good idea. Too many numbers to punch with a phone card. And I did miss a cell while Christmas shopping this year. I'm always calling to ask about sizes or ideas.
I volunteered to be a beta tester for Comcast's webmail. I liked the old one better. The smart zone is stupid for lack of a better word - but mine works anyway.
I like it for checking email from up north or from work...not that I have much time for that!
We decided to stay in tonight since we couldn't find a sitter for the kids and don't wanna drag em out in this crud.
On a serious note guys, it's supposed to be disgustingly wickedly cold tomorrow and Sunday with windchills well below zero (could even hit 40below!!). Bundle up and if you choose to bring your kids out in it, make sure they're COMPLETELY covered. One thing we did see today, all the kids we saw were bundled up properly. Good to see responsible parents out in the park today
Staying in touch with family is a good thing. Luckily, it's easier than it used to be.
When our son was in Guatemala for the Peace Corps, we were always excited when it was Saturday. That was his day to get into town for groceries and other errands that always included the internet cafe he found so we would know he was okay when we got the email.
The DAY it did work, after I was forced to change, I couldn't even find my address book to send emails. I ended up having to add them to a new address book to send anything. There was something else I didn't like about it but its been so long since I used it now I've forgotten what that is.
As it is now, my daughter Abby goes into my email from her computer and tells me who my emails are from and I have her read the ones I'm interested in to me. So its a problem on my end. I'm waiting for someone to stop over who can call and do whatever it takes to make it right. I don't speak computerese.
but seriously, the anagram is on the press site? do you have a link? I refuse to believe that any of them actually have those sort of anagram-solving skills... had to have come from somebody lurking here
I do that for my Mom. Once though she was stuck and I couldn't get over there to help out. (I think I was sick and didnt want to share the crud with her.) She called them herself and managed to get things figured out. She was truly proud of herself.
I've been witching about the weather since before Christmas. Seems this winter has been a long one already.

My daughter, daughter-in-law and son are on facebook so I took the plunge awhile back.

Am I in trouble?

Probably 45 minutes to clue time yet.
Besides, the daughter's cell phone number is in the 612 area code so we can reach her there if she's not home and it's not long distance.
We also have her 800 number at work.
Guess I don't need Skype.
With the windchill, my weather thingy says 17 below windchill. Brrrrrr.
I like it for checking email from up north or from work...not that I have much time for that!
I have a son living way up north-Elk River (hehe) and we SKYPE even though I am living back in the cities now.
I teleconference with SKYPE as well. Great invention.
I have been tempted to go to qwest for phone service, but we would lose the free long distance...and I don't have any love lost on qwest either.

It sucks if you don't look good when they "call".
I would lift my Laptop with SKYPE and show my kids around me apartment and my kids pick up their laptops and show me their dorms or house, ect.
So it is Live, In Person! It's cool.

As though living in times quite feudal
But time brings change, so it's not so strange
To see an owner walk his poodle
