I just hope someone helps take care of us in our old age. My mom is 81. Except for her arthritis, she's in good health. The arthritis, however, has really affected how she lives day to day.
I'm a wuss. I only left the house today because I was running out of coffee. But to be honest, I enjoy trying to decipher the clues as much as hunting. I had more fun hunting in the earlier years when the clues made more sense to me and I felt I actually had a shot at it. Now I'm mostly a cheerleader.
I did go out last year quite a few times though. I was pretty close to where it was found last year the day before. But I don't know anything about SW and the terrain sounds scary.
Seriously - if you project a point of the addresses of where 666 meets 666 - it's in the park. Directly west of Margaret, north of where Bates ends. I'm trying to map it, but I've not the tech skills. *sigh* I guess if you take any road map and make a line from both streets, you're close. As good a point as any for narrowing down a spot, "Beast exposed"
I took care of my mother in her home (my home now) for a couple of years before she died at home at the age of 98. My two youngest daughters helped me a lot. They claim they'll do the same for me. We'll see. It's hard work and I'm not sure I'd want them to have to do that again.
My Mom, when she needs more help, claims she will move to assisted living or a nursing home. She works at keeping every bit of independence she can keep. She doesn't want to be a burden. Her words - not mine. I would gladly care for her 24/7 if I could. She, however, would not be happy with that arrangement.
Well back from the Hollow spent a couple hours out there but really all of a sudden I'm not having a very good feeling about it. I hate to be switched to a new park at clue 8 that would bite almost like starting all over I've spent 3 days on the Hollow there are still lots of people diggin but still TONS of snow left unturned lots of hill side to check.
Saw a few CC lilman, Diggin and Diggin daughtersm, C. Digger, IM, Timmers and Pops, Mad Dog
I agree and maybe I am an overprotective parent but I saw way to many little kids out there...It's to cold with windchills like this to have little ones out.
Some go to Wild Tymes, some like the Bulldog, and last night I ran into a few people at Kelly's Depot Bar and they had just come from Obb's - so you have choices. Not sure if there is a general consensus.
If someone else has brought this up I apologize, but my "previous" finger was getting sore.
'Neath King and Court, they once did cavort
As though living in times quite feudal
But time brings change, so it's not so strange
To see an owner walk his poodle
Isn't that the history lesson they were promising us? In the day of the king and courts (late 1700's-early 1800's) France and Sweden were at war. Then the immigration. Now years later how ironic - we have a french(poodle) dog walking in a swedish (swedes) park!
If you want to find some weird underlining meeting I thought of the Rival nemisis of the "King" of burgers.. Golden arches! Look again at the 7th st tunnel. again- an extrapolation- I'm only sticking to the history part of this clue!
I didn't get Fea from the typo. I got Fea because of the option between the Pig and the Pitbull, which made me think of the confusion between the two Palins.
bear in mind there is a high possibility that "bower enclosed & beasts exposed" is the clue referring to what it's hidden in..
the best noodle I seen for "beasts exposed" was the one referring to County Road B EAST which leads to Keller... but I guess it could also be loosely referencing Easts as in the streets...
I saw: Mac, Posen, Kitch, Ian, Muccluck, Nimrod and many others.
Wow, looking forward to number 8. Pretty exhausted.
I think Posen gets the gold star he has been at SH since the first clue and he was there this morning at 4am.
I'm not complaining though. She has needs and we're the ones that take care of those needs. The timing just wasn't the best.

No worse than Mounds Park.
If I had to choose a park off of clue 1, it would be Crsoby because you could see where the box was laid to rest...FortSnelling.
I truly liked the 2 clue a day hunts better. More to chew on in a shorter time. Not so much time to tear things apart till one's head is swimming.

He either deserves a gold star or a straight jacket with reservations at the nuthouse. :pbpt:  :ooh: :pbpt:
Saw some familiar faces today including said squirrel turd (nutty).
Had a nice dinner at Yarusso's (saw Camo Terry there) and nice chat with the owner.
Young women who choose fashion over warmth are stupid. Cutesy hats and scarves with Ugg boots dont cut it.
Like my sister said (Kanooty)..."you know someone is dressed warm enough when you can't tell if it's a man or woman" BWAH!
"To see an owner walk his poodle"
Anagrams to:
Is Near Open Oak - Swede Hollow
I think this works too:
Oh It's Swede, Look Near Paw
I have a quick thought about the "beasts exposed" could it be the creek?
Edward Phalen was charged of murdering John Hays, sept 29 1839 the first ever in St Paul.
He was called an immoral, cruel, revengeful and unscruplous man.

I'm always surprised at the explanations and how there are lines that we noodled to death and the focus was on a different line.
I'm just saying not every line is suppose to fit.

honestly, my gut was still telling me Phalen a couple days ago... I really need to rethink everything leading up to tonight's clue
I had a noodle earlier today about exposed beasts. I was thinking of fossils. But that's more down by Lilydale if I remember correctly.
My thought of Tina Fea and Sara Palin Fea+Palin = Fea-Lin would be correct.
and beasts exposed = open Edward Phelan creek
Where have been my cryptic crossword pals?
exposed is to take off the first letter\
Beasts exposed= Easts
East 7th & East Minihaha

Now everyone can close thier bibles!
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died!
Land of the Pilgrim's pride!
From every mountain side,
Let freedom ring!
