2012 Clues
So its back to the drawing board for next year
to find a spot so deep and drear.
Harder to reach all you whiners
than those buried Chilean miners.
Next year's clues will inspire dread
requiring knowledge of languages dead,
Higher math rocket science
disbanding every hunters alliance.
I take your leave. I bid adieu.
I go in search of the perfect clue.
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve.
Will have a grand party in 2012.

on crackbook there's the cooler crew group, the st. paul pioneer press page, and the pioneer press treasure hunt page.
I guess that would just make too much sense.
For the 2012 hunt, this rendezvous will move to Gabes by the Park on Lexington Avenue.
This hunt is going to be a complete disaster. You heard it here first.
Sense in the good old days. Not so much now.
I think I need to go find some crayons and a helmet and beat my head on the wall.

Yesterday would have been the perfect day to hide the puck.
Treasure Hunt clues will be published in the Pioneer Press and on TwinCities.com beginning Sunday, January 22, 2012.
A new clue will appear daily through Thursday, February 2, 2012, unless the medallion is found prior to that date. I think it must be the lack of snow.
Even if we get snow between now and then, if I were the cluewriter, I'd be thinking BIG park this time. Just in case there isn't snow. So, Como being obvious, I'm going with Highland, just because I can walk there. And because my son is 11 months old. Gotta keep stuff local, if possible. With a snow suit, he looks like a starfish.
I think the Gabe's thing is due to the construction as well. It is a mess by the Press. No place to park, lots of opportunities to get towed.
The problem, of course, is that Gabe's doesn't have that much parking either. And crossing Snelling from Front is no picnic on foot. And it's a Packer bar. If the Green and Gold make it to the Super Bowl...it will be in insufferable place.
My leaf blower is a rake! I have a city lot, so the only gas powered tool I own is a snow blower, and that's because I have a corner lot, with two sidewalks to deal with.
Maybe one of the regional/county parks. Quite a few in the northern suburbs VH-SV-AH-NB.
The last couple of years I always want to look at parks outside of StP even though I know statistically it's not probable.
 :eyeroll:
Wait tell everyone sees what I got for X-mas! it is my pride and Joy! and It is older then alot of you all in the Cooler crew!! if not all of you!
on the flip side, as much as i hate to admit it, one of the parks outside the city may also be a possibility for spaces with wooded areas, where no one would ever think to look early on at least.
Como at least is close to Gabe's.
I also thought woods with this brown winter we're having, but if the spot wasn't in the woods, but not necessarily out in the middle of a field, with us all expecting woods, it would make for an interesting hunt at least for me. I'm so sick and tired of woods.
I believe Pike Island is a Minnesota state park (Fort Snelling State Park), is that allowed? Does anyone know for sure if it can be hidden in a state park?
I have had my eye on there for awhile thinking it was a perfect spot.
Nothing to see here, please move along.
