Digging until 2am - in bed by 3am - up at 9am and downtown by 9:30 for a day of carnival fun - home by 4pm.... very tired...
Ate dinner and laid down to "rest up" for tonight... woke up at 10pm!!! HMMM should I hurry up and get to the paper?!?!? Or stay here all comfy and warm in my sweats in bed?!?!?
After reading the clue..... SO GLAD I STAYED IN BED!
This is referring to the railroad that used to be in SH.
From Wiki
In addition railroad tracks were built along the creek in 1865, because the creek bed provided a relatively easy grade up from the Mississippi River compared to the bluffs in other places

From what I seen, the area that makes the most sense (back towards the old brewery) was really massively picked over, so if it's back there I'm pretty sure someone was right on it... I don't think they'd put it on the unplowed side with the steeper hills by the creek, that'd be an absolute disaster with hundreds of people right there... and not too much that's "all natural" on the plowed side, although there's a few nice spots over there where everything you'd see was done naturally...
The main thing that I so not like about Swede, is its safety for the clue 12 rush. It is very steep in places. Some of you guys saw those stairs; very icy. The creek is part frozen in places. You get enough people to stand on the ice and boom. So idk. Does safety play into where they would hide it? Is this where the "Quite Roomy" clue comes into play?
Wilder Center is located in the southwest corner of University Avenue and Lexington Parkway; the former site of Lexington Park, the home of the original Saint Paul Saints baseball team from 1897 to 1956. Civil engineers pin-pointed the exact spot of the original home plate -- near the north entrance of Wilder Center.
A commemorative brass plate marks the location of home plate as a reminder to employees and visitors of the site's rich history. A grass pitcher's mound is also featured in the backyard as an additional tribute to celebrate the site's history.
I think last year's hiding spot was significantly safer and "quite roomy" compared to what would be the equivalent of a "final clue" rush to a spot in Swede... unless said spot was closer to the front entrance at 7th & Payne and people wouldn't be rushing down the huge hill / stairs
last year you just had one spot that was sorta narrow that you had to walk past, and the hills weren't quite as steep as Swede... piece of cake
Didn't somebody noodle something about chug races, or soap box derby races... Can't remember what park that was referring to, but perhaps that was "is" the sped by at a quickend pace part and those could be the losers and winners.
Didn't Swede hollow turn into a "little Italy" after the swedes moved out? (Yarussos ) Weren't Romeo and Juliet the "star crossed" lovers in this Italian tale?

North St. runs through SH... both east and west sides
"star-crossed place"
makes a lil more sense
Is that all Maria until it hooks up at North or do they call that something else? (Been too many years since I officed over there to remember.)
Sped by at a quickened pace

Battle Creek in Maplewood
Woodview in Roseville on Larpenteur near Dale
Others are further out - White Bear Township, Shoreview, or other counties.

Question is, where is it, and is it in a spot that somebody already dug up but missed? :ooh:
That whole line could read like this and mean the same thing:
Unleash the medallion quest! = Start the medallion quest!
I need intriguing when it comes to history. It was not my favorite subject.
Not that recent years have been so totally safe for a 12th clue rush.
Have we figured out who the german doll is?

I like that! Makes 1/2 the clue make sense for me...
Now I need to figure out the other 1/2....
That is unless someone comes up with a better explanation.
