2012 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt - Tony Schmidt Park
2012 Clues 

So its back to the drawing board for next year 
to find a spot so deep and drear. 
Harder to reach all you whiners 
than those buried Chilean miners. 

Next year's clues will inspire dread 
requiring knowledge of languages dead, 
Higher math rocket science 
disbanding every hunters alliance. 

I take your leave. I bid adieu. 
I go in search of the perfect clue. 
Prepare to hike hard dig deep and delve. 
Will have a grand party in 2012.

ya know, looking back over the years, for all the whining we've done about clues surrounding the park until the bitter end as of late, this isn't exactly a new phenomenon. Take a look for example at 1990. With the exception of the torpedo clue of clue 6 (which you had to know the jargon to figure out), everything until clue 11 was the same pattern as we've had recently. park. park. park. park. park. park. park. park. park..... street. pinpoint.

i'm looking for some images (.png/.bmp/.ai, etc..)to make "cooler crew" specific pucks (like i've made in the past..) i would like the front image to have the traditional cooler crew logo and the total years represented: 19** - 2012 on the bottom. on the back i would like it to just read, "you dig?" and have something winter carnival related with it, like the ice palace or whatever. what do people think? i will also make some of the PP "replicas" i've done in the past. this will maybe be a one time thing depending on the time and materials needed between now and the PDG. i would like to use them as prizes at the pity party or even fund raising for the hall at the park that it's found at.. i'm open to suggestions. also if anyone has newer pics or has an idea of what the new puck is supposed to look like, i would be interested in that also :wink: sorry for the wall of text - d rex

If you wanted to resurrect the window decals, we've got a huge roll of static cling graphic film at work that's gonna die of old age if we don't use it soon.

I don't know if we need to worry about passive-aggressive hunters key'ing paint in the parks, but my 2001 Saturn could probably use a little 'Character'.

The film we have is Static Cling clear - no adhesive. I'd probably stick in on the inside of the windows after you got the car heated up well - I don't even know if the static will still 'cling' when it's damn cold out.

I'd print it 'backwards' so if you stick it on the inside of the window it will read right on the outside. The sucky part about clear film is that if the car is darker than the outside you have a hard time reading it. That's why we have so much of it lying around.

Looks great! I think the shovel might look better vertically. Maybe incorporate the shovel's handle into one of the letters in "Cooler Crew"? Just a thought.

..had to cater to a 3" x 12" roll width to max the sheet at (16) on a sheet.. like the revised idea though! maybe for a t-shirt?

will have them available at PDG. they are applied to the outside of the vehicle.

i'm thinking of eating the cost to have them made and selling them to pay for the hall at the pity party? i can push these myself or give them to the right person? trygve maybe? who should i get a hold of?

i'm thinking 5 bucks a sticker. 3m uv coated vinyl.

Yes they do pay to Read here and who knows some people over the years have got this thing against the Cooler Crew because they feel we act as tho we are the greatest thing since sliced bread. But as you can see we are all here for one goal to find the Puck BEFORE JAKE FINDS IT AGAIN!!

It appears that the PP is not bringing back the "new discussion board" and they are now wanting to have all discussion on FB or Twitter...

Wonder how that will work if it is true.

I used to be on those boards many years ago...it was pretty wild...Someone stole my user name and I couldn't get it back. Posted a lot of nasty stuff, too. The political boards were the worst.

so let's see. since 2002, ma press has had the prospero boards (which are still active and linked from the cooler crew site), a couple of other now-defunct boards, and this thing now at blogs.

we've had 2. and this is kind of just an extension of the first that we had. i think i'll take our stability anyday. only thing better would be a forum like this at the cooler crew site. i'll get to working on that after i wrap up my treasure hunt module to incorporate all the clues and stuff directly into the system i've got there instead of having about 4 different systems mashed together.
